Yes you can. Bigger needles and less stitches required. Make a small swatch and see how many stitches you need to have the measurement you want. I like thinner yarn. made a pait with sock yarn, size 6 needles and casted on 55 stitches. Lovely!

I found a knitting pattern on Pinterest for fingerless gloves. The creator was showing pictures of how she did it and I was so lost. It went from "using a darning needle" to showing a picture of them finished then it showed them finished with 4 strings hanging off the ends with no dialog. This video really helped.

These videos are awesome, thank you so much! I have been crocheting since I was about six and knitting since I was about ten. Mostly I have only made scarfs, blankets, and washcloths. I have never been able to get the hang of reading a pattern because I am more of a visual learner. Your videos are truly amazing and cater to my visual learning side. Thank you so, so much for showing us these wonderful and beautifully simple patterns. I have a daughter of my own now (she's 8 months tomorrow), so I have to learn more patterns. Currently I am making her a hat, scarf and glove set for winter in a few months. Thank you once again!!

How sweet! Thank you! The more you knit, the easier it gets. Besides, it's always a nice challenge to learn something new. You can fix mistakes, if you catch them on time. Another thing, your knits don't need to be perfect, always. It's also about enjoying the process. It's a relaxing and creative hobby.

Do you have any videos about what to do when you are knitting and purling then turn your work? as this is where it goes wrong when I turn it, so I must be doing something wrong and supposed to do something different the other side when I turn?
