Your bathing costume is utterly charming. And your honesty about the process is refreshing, and something the internet needs more of. Finally, I’d love to know where you found the pattern, and if you kept notes about it on Ravelry.

Thank you! I got the pattern in etsy from Pamoolah vintage, but she closed her shop last time I checked. I think she is on IG though, if you want the pattern you might try reaching out to her there? I'm sorry, I didn't take any notes, my ravelry page functions as a wish list mostly 😅

I have so much anxiety associated with cutting my yarn. Sometimes I will just deal with the mess of leaving the second one attached until I've worked a few more rows. I absolutely love the finished product.

Incan totally relate, especially after making that epic mistake knitting this bathing suit 😬 Thank you!❤

Love the relatable content. Also, that is a clever way to steam block, by covering it with a piece of fabric.. I'll have to try that method next time!

AH! I know the pain, I check and check and sometimes the wrong strand jumps onto the scissors. The costume came out great. Good job : )

oh no, and more mistakes. Good thing it's just yarn, it's not what happens, it's what you do about it.
@GwensShenanigans4 жыл бұрын
yes, no shortage of mistakes...

That came out so great! Did/ will you line it? I'm always afraid of the weight of water in an unlined knit/crochet swim suit.
@GwensShenanigans4 жыл бұрын
I hadn't thought of lining it other than the crotch tbh, but if it really makes that much of a difference I might consider it!

OMG! Finally, someone else who knits 1930s bathing suits and and wears them. The Skirt is actually called the modesty panel.

I've been warned against it, but I'm itching to do it just to see what happens 😂

@@GwensShenanigans I'd say 'do it' but you knitted that whole thing by yourself! What would happen to it if you did swim in it?
@GwensShenanigans4 жыл бұрын
I've been told it the water will make it so heavy it might end up round my ankles😂
