All of the issues in your playlist of "Fixing Mistakes" has been the reason why I have not started knitting. I bought needles and everything else but then I try and I get mistakes that NO ONE explains in beginner videos!!! They might explain one mistake, the easier, dropping stitches but nothing else. And I get all kind of mistakes.....going into the wrong loop without realizing, the mistake you are showing in the this video and many others that you solved in all of your videos in the fantastic playlist you have of fixing mistakes!!! Thank you so much....now I might try again and feel more confident I can fix those issue without having to start from scratch again.....from casting stitches into my needles!!!! My knitting sections are made of me casting stitches over and over for even 2 hours sometimes.....for each time I make a mistake!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Even after 60+ years of knitting, I've never successfully learned to do this. The trick I always missed was twisting that "kinked" strand!

Thank you for giving those minute, tiny details -- such as how to turn the sharp point of the crochet hook -- which will guarantee a successful repair. You have a genius for delineating each step of a procedure in clear, comprehensible order.

Omg this has happened to me several times, and my only recourse, out of ignorance, was to rip it out! Thank You!
@annefranchetto33583 жыл бұрын
Thank you The turning your work around is the key! I think I would try picking up the stitch as you did but then move it to the left needle before picking up the lower strand with the crochet hook or needle. I could then manipulate the stitch to open it up more to be able to pull the lower strand through. Your video is perfect. I have been knitting for 65 years, picked up dropped or twisted cable stitches, but never figured this one out and yes 860 stitches with 1 dropped on cast on was always frogged. Wish I had seen this video years ago. You are a genius.

Excellent tutorial as always, Staci! I’ve done this for years now and trying to explain it in writing or verbally is near impossible. It really does take seeing it in action.

My hero! I have a bit of a tremor so this happens to me fairly regularly. The first row is always a pain anyway so this saves me so much. Thank you.

Thanks Stacy. It’s always good to know how to get the stitch back on the needle in the right direction without twisting the unworked stitch. Thanks.

Staci, your Slo-Mo tutorials are very helpful. I'd love one on the Icelandic bind-off. That bind-off is great for garter stitch pieces, and I knit a lot of garter stitch shawls. I checked your Slo-Mo playlist and didn't see one for that, so I hope I haven't overlooked it. Thanks so much.

This has happened to me so many times, the last time about 4 stitches before the end of 300+ stitches only about 2 weeks ago. As soon as you turned it round l realised exactly what to do. Don't know whether to laugh or cry as l can't believe it's never occurred to me before. Thank you for this though cos, l was obviously not going to get there on my own. 😁
