Thanks for sharing your trip. Wow, you knit so fast. My trip to New Zealand was 40 years ago. I came home pregnant! I also bought spinning fiber as I wasn’t knitting at the time. I like how real you are and NOT ostentatious. You don’t flash expensive yarns or project bags and tools. Your designs are for everyone. I saw you last year at Rhinebeck but was too shy to say hello. Come to Seattle for Flock this summer !

Outlaw Yarns is my favourite! Last year we were visiting Scotland and I finished knitting a Birkin (Caitlin Hunter) in Rebel Light while we were staying near Inverness. I did get to wear it in Scotland as it was a tad chilly! The Rebel Light is my favourite closely followed by Rebel Darkness which has a beautiful handle when knitting with it. So glad you enjoyed stopping by at Deb’s little dye place and showroom 😊.

Thanks very much for sharing New Zealand with us, Rebecca! I am glad you’ve shown us the beauty of New Zealand! I’ve always wanted to go, but will never have the financial means and the ability to go! It is so zen to watch and make believe I am there in spirit. Thanks so much for sharing! Glad you had an amazing and awesome time there! Happy knitting & designing. Wishing you and your significant other a restful, relaxing, and lovely autumn! ❤️❤️

I knitted an Agnes jumper (Brooklyn Tweed pattern) in Outlaw Yarn's Rebel Destiny Light and it is by far the best wearing wool I have ever knit with. I wear the Agnes all the time and it has great drape with barely any pills at all. It looks as new as the day it came off the blocking mats, so if you like woollen spun yarns, I can't recommend it highly enough. Great video, so interesting and thanks for taking us along with you.

Deb is Outlaw yarn's owner, fun fact, Ethan and Emily of Get Flocked worked there until last year. Get Flocked is a year old now. The South Island is home to some amazing yarn shops! I'm quite lucky to live 1hr south of Aoraki, and 1hr north of Wanaka. It's a gorgeous country and I certainly don't take it for granted :D

sometimes it needs a visitors perspective to appreciate how amazing NZ is and the incredible diversity of scenery within fairly short distances and most of it easily accessible. Thanks for showing us your road trip and yes, sometimes the sheer wonder of nature brings tears of appreciation. I knew you would get a lot of wear from your lovely Lauder,

New Zealanders love it when someone from overseas notices our country! Ha ha. Thanks for sharing. I cried when visiting Yosemite National Park in the US. Everything is HUGE and the power needed to create such a landscape must have been immense. On the other hand geothermal area of Yellowstone was disappointing in comparison to Rotorua. We are lucky here. I actually thought Scotland looked a lot like New Zealand but with a tinge of rust/burgandy over the landscape.

Thank you so much again for having us along with you on your travels. you can see why Lord of the rings was filmed there, it's such an untamed landscape. I live in Wicklow in Ireland about 15, 20 minutes from where a lot of the Vikings and such were filmed.

Yea! What a fun video Rebecca! Love the hat you whipped up on the road! So cute and the color is perfect on you! You will always remember that beanie! Plus you managed a new tester call, traveling, and keeping Sam sane whilst tackling those winding highways! Thank you for taking us along on this trip! ClaudiaSJI

I've been looking forward to your South Island videos! We were there in December and looking to return in March to cycle the Otago rail trail. Cant wait! We are celebrating Kings Birthday here in NZ this weekend so Monday is a holiday. We've driven up to the southern end of Lake Taupo, about 3.5 hours from home, for some relaxation time. So glad you enjoyed your trip down under ❤

What a beautiful country, some day I will make the trip I laughed at your 'driving anxiety'. The first time we went to Ireland, my husband had never driven on the left, we live in Canada. We headed out in a tiny standard car, with the shift on the left and driving on the left, in the rain. Single lane roads, winding up and down and we thought some where off road. Nothing like our 4-7 lane freeways we have here. I was so frightened because the rock walls were so close to my side of the car! He even stopped when a large tour bus headed our way! We survived and still laugh about that adventure. Thanks for the footage.

Thank you so much! I spent a month in NZ last year at the same time of year. I also have a photo of the fence with all the bras :). I remember how literally “stunning” every view was. Thanks for helping me relive the trip. And your pink hat is adorable!

Ahh. Toasted sandwiches in Picton, Ferg Burger in Queenstown (order in advance as the queues are always long), pies in Maketu, green lipped mussels at Leuven in Wellington.... heaven.

Spincycle is $68 us dollars for 100 grams! There are some commercial yarns that can easily be substituted for much more cost effective.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardrona_Bra_Fence This is the history of the bra fence in Otago New Zealand. Not far from where I live in a tiny beach town on the west coast of the north island (Himatangi Beach) is a fence along the main highway with jandals (thongs) stuck on it 🩴😁. Great video, its truly beanie wearing weather here now. xxx
