I am currently almost finished with the soho top, and I am now convinced to do the icord and block around the neck and arm holes before I complete the bottom. Thank you!

Awesome!! I definitely recommend that method :)

I hear you about the sock yarn. I'm knitting a cardigan right now with a yarn that has incredible yardage but I've had to cut about 6 knots out the one skein. Hoping the second isn't as bad. Looking forward to seeing your design process!

Yeah I’m not very picky but I feel like yarn shouldn’t have a knot within the first yard! I’ve dealt with some more issues since then but hopefully they’re done lol

I work in Knitting retail and personally I would suggest contacting the company , I'm sure anyone with good customer service would hate to hear that there were so many issues with this yarn, especially when you've paid good money for it. Just my suggestion🙂

So sad about the Petal Drop! Maybe you can knit this pattern again in a more suitable colour? If the pattern was a pleasant experience and produced a beautiful garment, it wouldn't be bad to repeat it! As for the boat neck you're designing and the i-cord thing, I came across the same problem with a vest I'm self-drafting/ designing right now. I had a very solid concept for it, also a boat neck, also with i-cord on the neck, but everything about it worked except for the i-cord (well, and the color distribution, but I didn't really know how the degradé yarn would play out, and guessed it wrong). It's almost ready now, but the neckline was a pain. I had to remake the neck shaping once (I'm making it bottom to bottom in one piece), and while I got the neck hole how I wanted the second time around, the i-cord kept floppy and rolling out just like you mentioned about the June Top. I wanted to cinch the neckline a bit and give it structure; the i-cord worked only partially for the cinching in. Then my second option was to make a border of single crochets (my yarn is a little fluffy and you can't even notice it's crochet), two rows, picking up one every two stitches in the horizontal edge in the first row, and in the second, I've crocheted two stitches together at a certain interval in the horizontal edges as well. I have to recalculate the interval and maybe make one row picking up every stitch and then 2 rows decreasing. I'm also crocheting only in the back loop of the former round to counteract the impulse of the stockinette fabric of rolling to the front. I'm not there yet, but on the way! All this to say I would really appreciate your tutorial for a neater i-cord. I-cord still is so pretty, as long as it doesn't fold together with the stockinette fabric...

I’m thinking I will do that someday, and probably size up. I feel like a garment with that loose of a gauge and a lot of eyelets is probably not the best garment to have negative ease! And I am glad you relate to the icord issue, for what I’m working on I’ve definitely solved it for when I’m wearing it but it still doesn’t seem as clean as I want it to when it’s not being worn, but I am pretty convinced it’ll be fixed in blocking. Hopefully my next episode I have it done and blocked so I can go into more detail!! ❤

Wear it with a white tube top or the same colour one. Not bras tube tops.

This is what I did with my Barbroe top and it worked! I think how tight this top is is part of why it doesn’t work, plus it being in a bright color. I even tried finding a bandeau in a similar color but I had trouble finding one, and since there are fit issues I don’t love I think it’s just best to frog it :(

I’m sooo excited to see that spinning episode! Really curious what you come up with! Also, I thought you were being so dramatic with that sock yarn at first but after seeing the extent of it, i’d be mad too. I think a bit of that weird twisty spin thing is fairly common but i usually only see like an inch in a whole ball of yarn so yours is a bit ridiculous, especially for the price! Loved this video ❤️
@truesummerknits4 ай бұрын
Yeah you can see that spin issue throughout spots in the whole ball!! Thankfully that spot I showed is the only one where it was extremely noticeable/coming apart. Thank you

Couldn’t you use the petal top as beach/pool cover up? With a swimsuit or a biquini underneath. It’s really pretty, it’s a shame to frog it. Or even try to line it with either nude or a similar coloured fabric?

About the sock yarn. Send them an email. I heard somewhere, but don't quote me on that, that someone sent them an email and the company sent them back yarn. So you have nothing to lose. Take some photoes, of the inside of the ball too ,and send them to the company.

Such a shame to frog the petal drop! I wonder if you couldn’t find a bandeau in a similar color to the top? You would see it but maybe not in a bad way. I can see how nude bras that almost never match your actual skin tone perfectly wouldn’t work.

I know it’s sad :( I tried! I have lots of different types of bras and I also ordered a gray bandeau, and none of them make me feel comfortable. I think part of it is because it’s so tight you can see everything- if it was less fitted I think it would be easier to make it work.
