I was thinking Sophie scarf for your friend when you said it. Always fun listening to you, you move along quickly, not boring.

When I use heel flap and gusset on self striping yarn, I knit the heel from the opposite end of the ball and it doesn’t mess up the stripes too much. Always love when you have a new podcast up. Makes my day. 😊

I love to knit with cones, 2 colors at a time. Then marling is beautiful and washes so well. I am making 2 sweaters and love the fabric. But, after making a half and half with one strand I want to make double strand version. Changing one strand at a time is my plan. You have enough colors to also try your hand at a slow fade blanket. I love to listen to your thinking out loud. It inspires me. Happiest of 2024 to you and your family. 😊

I love your chatting! I am knitting a star wars hat for my 44year old daughter! 😂 made them for grands when they were younger and they got lost at school. She was bemoaning the loss so thought it would be fun to make her one.

About the coned yarn for a blanket… This sounds like a perfect time to find a friend or a MakerSpace with a knitting machine.

Holst Supersoft is my favorite yarn. I knit all my sweaters out of it and it is very soft and pleasent to knit with once you pre-wash it. I always knit it held single on 3 mm needles. No peeIing even after 2 years of constant wear. I wear it next to skin. I also noticed that their cones are much more than 500g. Most are even up to 600g for the same price. It is very affordable and perfect for people who prefer tiny stitches/tiny gauge. Colorwork looks absolutely stunning in it too. But if you want an even softer "mohairier" experience, you can pair 1 strand of Supersoft with 1 strand of Titicaca (very fluffy alpaca yarn by Holst, in matching colors). It turns out like a cloud.

My favorite blanket right now is the one from whiskey and wool and she held 10 fingering yarns together and did a simple rib pattern. I grabbed 20 skeins and finished it this past fall. Love love it. So I’m all for the 16 skeins you pulled for the purl soho pattern. So pretty! Enjoy your holidays.😊

I love that green forest green in your little purl Soho ribbed hat. I am making a sweet shop blanket and really enjoying it. it's so fun using lots of different colours and I like the construction. It's building up to a good size fairly quickly

Hi Megha, there is a crochet blanket pattern that might work for your holst yarn. It’s called the riot blanket and I believe it’s free and is done in dk but I think can be done in any weight. Good luck with deciding!❤

Hi Megha, I am currently knitting the Granny Ripple blanket by Bella Coco knits. I plan to make a rectangular one like a Kashmiri shawl. Also plan to use up all the acrylic yarn I have for it. It has grown so quickly. I started 4 days ago and it already is 12”+. It was good to see your knits

Another amazing podcast. I love knitting with you! You make me giggle. Think you I also love the garter squish blanket. The Chevron baby blanket by espace tricot is another favourite. Easily adaptable with a little math. I have done it in lots of weights of yarn. Very relaxing to knit.

I love making the Lullaby blanket from Tin Can Knits. The ;pattern name does not describe it well as it is written for different weight yarns and different sizes. I have only mdke the throw sizes holding fingering double or from worsted scraps. Great stash buster or planned color project.

Hi Megha, I always enjoy seeing what you've been making and love hearing all of your future plans. I love how the Dornie is turning out for Mr Skeins of Dreams, as well as your Anker sweater - both patterns are in my queue. So many blanket ideas you have! I have the Half and Half wrap in my queue to use some of my Holst Garn cones. I am a lover of Holst Garn! If you ever decide you would want to destash any of your cones, I'm always in the market to purchase more. Have a great holiday season and happy knitting!

You are lucky to have two full weeks off from work during the holidays, I assume it’s paid time off. I work for the federal government and we have to use our leave if we want to take time off during the holidays. This year was the first time I took four days off straight in a row. And it was hell when I came back because I had so much work piled up and no one did my work for me. Happy New Year 🎆

Ahh unfortunately, this is a forced closure and we have to use our own vacation days or go on unpaid off. I was annoyed with it at first because traveling at this time of the year is so expensive. However, I decided to make the most of it doing things I like ( mostly knitting and watching movies :D)

When you mentioned your woolly cones and fade sets, I immediately thought of Jude Harper's blanket where she marled a grey yarn with a sequence of rainbow shades. It produced a gorgeous moody palette. She talks about it here and it starts about minute 22:01: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l33UXpR6h9qMptU

Sidenote, I think your sound problem is due to your micro being too sensitive while your speaking voice is rather loud. Whenever you speak softly, the sound is much much better (no rattling) :)
@skeinsofdreamsknits11 ай бұрын
Okay that actually makes a lot of sense. I always feel my sound is just a little off but nobody seemed to feel the same? Maybe I can stop boosting the sound so much when I edit. I also feel because people watch the videos over different devices, it’s hard to find a happy medium on home recording devices. Perhaps I need to go pro with my recording device 😂
