Kim - thank you for showing how you fixed the neckline of your Classic sweater. I had the same issue with my Turtle Dove and wasn't wearing it as I didn't like how it "bumped" at the front. Tonight I threaded the sewing elastic at the top and base of the collar and it looks soooo much better! I definitely will start wearing it. Thank you!

Kim, I knit with turtlepurl for fingeringless mitts, once you wash the yarn it blooms and is very soft.

I love that the Knitting Posse will be in Nashville! It will be my first yarn fest. I lived in Nashville for 25 years and worked as an RN at Vanderbilt. We lived off of West End and the place we loved so much was Centennial Park with its Parthenon (the statue of Athena is breathtaking!). Have a great time and I am looking forward to seeing you all!

Kate, with my last socks from a tube, for the ribbing I tried something new. Instead of unraveling to reknit the cuff, I dropped every other stitch and picked them back up as purls with a crochet hook. It might not have been any faster but it was fun, and much tighter ribbing than I knit.

I was happy to run into you!! I’ve gone to VKL NYC at least seven times. And I agree with your assessment. The price for vendors is outrageous and even the packages of classes and lectures has continued to rise. I remember getting the VIP package which included the gala dinner for $700; this year it was $1100 and I said no way.

I died laughing at your intro! 🤣 We live about 30 minutes east of Nashville. I would suggest eating in the Gulch area of downtown. The Chef and I has great food. Before or after eating you can get your picture taken in front of the famous “wings” painted on the wall. I won’t be attending the event but I’d love to meet up with you crazy ladies!

Nashville tip if you are going to see live music: Bring smallish bills for the tip jar, unless you want to drop a 20 at each place. It was helpful to us to have a stash of 5s and 10s :) Tip jars for the musicians everywhere!

Another great podcast ladies. So glad you are going to MDK Nashville. Me too! I also bought some Wooloomooloo shoes. I tried them on at Rhinebeck in 2023. I couldn't make up my mind and left without them. What?! Once I got home I knew I needed them and purchased. I walked all around France in them. Super comfy. Love them.

You three are warm and wonderful! Laura, I just knit a Grist sweater (large size for a guy) and you're right, the pattern is carefully written and has lots of the kinds of subtle details that you appreciate. And, Kim, I knit a Garden cardigan last spring and it falls so beautifully it is easy to fasten with a Jewel closure if you want that coziness. Have fun in Nashville.

Thought you might be interested in a bit of Australian history…the shoes are named after a inner Sydney harbour suburb called Wooloomooloo (pronounced wu-luh-muh-loo) its great feature apart from being by the harbour is that it has these old huge piers which have now been restored & updated to house restaurants & a hotel etc but in the 1920’s they became one of the major wool dispatch points, the site of Sydney's only wool dumps (where wool bales are compressed by hydraulic plugs). Just thought you’d be interested..HNY

They are all those good things and then the comment about craft fair. Yes, absolutely sounded snobby and I'm so disappointed.
@ImCFoxx
@ImCFoxx 5 күн бұрын
@@marinawelch3964 honest opinions are hard to come by on many knitting/craft podcast. Going to a craft fair from hours away is expensive and if there are vendors for what reason we do not know, maybe exploring the reasons for its lack of participation should be looked at by the organizers. Just the point it did sound a little snarky, but I appreciate honesty and I trust these women’s opinion.
@marinawelch3964

@ I agree and every podcaster I watch that attended VKL was less than satisfied with the event but none made it sound like they are “too good” for the vendors who were there. Let’s just be kind in all ways. She wouldn’t have said “Did that sound snobby” if she didn’t know that.
