I have no idea what you were talking for a while in the beginning; I was watching the dog :)) Although I am top down sock knitter, I have to admit that this is the easiest cast on I've ever seen. I checked with knitting friends and it seams that they all knit that way; I must have been in a dark cave until now :))
@verypinkknits3 жыл бұрын
This cast-on can be a bit tricky the first few times you use it, but it's easy to get the hang of it. And the dogs, haha, yes! My elderly dog has a big appearance in this video. He doesn't want to get out for walks everyday anymore, but he's happy taking himself on a walk in the backyard, just pacing around. :)

How to do German short row with a different color for the heel
@sm81143 жыл бұрын
Hi, I am so hooked on trying this out. Can I ask, how would you adapt pattern for someone who has very long toes and is more of a square shape until you reach the little toe? Thank you 😊
@verypinkknits3 жыл бұрын
There is no need to make adaptations for toe length or shape...socks are stretchy, and the only real concern when sizing them is the foot length (shoe size), and that is all explained in the pattern.

I first knit your one at a time toe up GSR worsted weight socks. And then your pattern for Two at a time toe up with sock weight yarn on Magic Loop Now I want to knit Two at a time; Toe up socks; using Judy’s Magic Cast On, but on Two Circulars. I find Magic Loop annoying I can’t find a sock pattern or tutorial for that combination. I’ve been searching and searching but can’t seem to find that. Do you have that pattern and tutorial?
@verypinkknits3 жыл бұрын
I have a pattern for JMCO toe, but it is not specifically written for two at-a-time on two circulars. If you are comfortable with knitting on two circulars you can easily use this pattern, but it is not written specifically to be knit that way. verypink.com/2021/05/12/judys-magic-cast-on-toe-german-short-row-heel/

@@verypinkknits Thank you. I was having trouble knitting TAAT Toe-Up on Two Circulars. I’ve knit TAAT Toe-Up on Magic Loop. But kept knitting myself into a six trying to work out how to knit on two circulars. I didn’t understand how it was meant to go on Two Circulars, I’d never knit anything on two circulars so kept making a mess of it and having to start over and over again. In the meantime I’ve decided I like Turkish cast on best for Toe-Up socks.

Stacy, you show JMC toe and GSR heel and show to "get a pattern" it just has name of JMC and GSR heel, so does this pattern if buy, have full sock pattern or ONLY those two things? Does it also include all choices for different heels, or do I come back to youtube each time to see different video? I want to buy your full sock pattern but not sure where to find from your descriptions.
@verypinkknits3 жыл бұрын
This pattern, the pattern I demonstrate in this video is just like a normal sock pattern...one toe and one heel. The other patterns in the series also include one toe and one heel. There is a separate video for each pattern, but you can choose the toe and the heel you would like to knit, and they all fit together, in both men's and women's sizes. Does that help?
@jq71363 жыл бұрын
@@verypinkknits so if I choose this I have a full pattern to knit a pair of socks different sizes- it’s not just toe and heel in that $8 order?
@verypinkknits3 жыл бұрын
It is a complete sock pattern with all of the information to knit the whole sock, in two sizes, plus video tutorial.
@klaudiakotowska20983 жыл бұрын
Could you show how to transfer the stitches from the magic loop to a single short circular for knitting the length of the foot? Could you continue doing GSR for the heel on a singular short cable needle?

I'm confused about the pattern. Does the pattern include all the toes & heels in this series? Or do you have to choose yr toe & heel 1st and then buy the pattern to match??? Love the videos and wanted to get the pattern to follow along. Thanks.
@verypinkknits3 жыл бұрын
This pattern includes the Judy's Magic Cast-On Toe and German Short Row Heel. This toe and heel will match perfectly with the other patterns in the series...meaning you can pick any toe and any heel and match them up to make the sock combination you want to make.
@christineteffenhart57223 жыл бұрын
@@verypinkknits So if I want all the combinations in the series I would have to buy multiple patterns? I usually need to read a pattern before I can choose my toe/heel combo. Not necessarily a problem, just want to be informed before I make a purchase(s). Thanks again.
@verypinkknits3 жыл бұрын
It's clear in each pattern what the toe/heel combination is (it's right there in the title) and I demonstrate both in the accompanying video tutorial. For now, each toe/heel combo is in a separate pattern (one toe and one heel in each pattern, like a normal sock pattern). Sometime in the future we might bundle the patterns...but for now each toe/heel combo is separate.
Thx again for a great video-what needles are you using?

Is GSR good to use with self striping yarn? I am looking for the perfect heel to use with these yarns. So far the only pattern I’ve had success with is an afterthought heel, but I’m thinking this might work since there is no gusset. I’m having trouble picturing it though.
@verypinkknits3 жыл бұрын
Yes - it's a good heel for self striping yarns. I'm actually knitting this pattern with Turtlepurl self striping yarn in Joy right now.
