Skein-arios! 😂 This was a great episode. It's absolutely adorable how you guys are around each other after so many years together! In the future, what if yarn could read your body temp vs outside temp and magically adjust itself? No more neck sweat! lol. I hope you do make an episode with funny scenarios about futuristic knitting. :)

I love how invested Spencer is in your knitting 😁 you guys put a huge smile on my face. I also love the neon sign, but I have to say that it makes it a bit harder to see the colours of the wool. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend!

I have been looking for 3 ply yarn in worsted weight for a while now. Specifically Rambouillet mixed with Mohair, but mmm, I might give Romney a try. I'm looking for something quite soft, but sturdy. I've been trying to finish a sweater I started that's a 3 Ply worsted weight, but I don't have enough yarn. I thought I would use similar but in a different color, something like a heathered ebony if only I could find it. Ha, I've been looking for over a year. I can't spin yet, otherwise I would try to find the fiber and spin it myself. Intersting the colors in the studio give everything a bluish shade whereas the website give things what looks like a more nuetral, gray shade. Could be the studio lighting - but it looks really cool! The Jacob looks gorgeous - love the really dark color. I think it's a bit thin for what I'm looking for but I may even try that one too. Looks beautiful! They all do. ☺

Nice episode! Its so weird I saw all the new yarn as shades of blue! Really appealing fibre though, love the shine of Masham and the fuzz of Jacobs.

Love watching you two interact. It's hilarious. If only I could come up with a future scenario for Spencer.... How about it's 2027 and people are adding metal hardware to sweaters. Hinges, I bolts, mini locks, corrugated metal straps, etc. How does that make him feel?

Question: If you could 3D print knitted contact lenses, would there still be a need for printed-on knitting like Poppy's dress or would that be redundant now?

I saw a pattern description on Ravelry recently that said “only available in English so have chat GPT translate it for you.” Can’t remember which pattern this was so sadly I can’t link it and also hard to know the full impact of this statement since the description was also written in English…the designer evidently did not run it through chat GPT to translate it into various languages 🤷♀️😂

@knittingthestash Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Janet. It was an Amazon deli-o. But, I've heard the light is distorting the yarn a bit, so it will have to remain in the off position next episode :)

kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJbGcoeIrK2Ehpo I do believe so! Alisha explains it nicely, there are some machines that can do crochet look-a-likes, but crochets items in store are made by (wo)man or child, for non to high gages.
@genier7829 Жыл бұрын
I have heard the same thing about crochet. Also, it is not possible (currently) to mechanize basketry. Just watched a Botanical Age video on the Leakey Foundation channel, and they connected woven monkey/ape nests to the evolution of bipedalism and language.... there's a rabbit hole for Spencer to dive down. Just to keep him occupied during the snowy afternoon. Maybe Nieu wool is the new Soylent Green? Sorry, nothing is better than wool. Period.

1. Spencer: "In 2025 AI will take over Ravelry." Me: "Will it be so busy on Ravelry it will get out of politics?" 2. "In 2025 yarn will be synthetic." Melissa and Me: "Been there, done that, got the 1950s sweater." 3. Spencer: "If yarn were made of Mackerel, you could spend it in prison." Me: "Huh?" 4. Beautiful shawl! AND, most importantly of all - why are you more concerned about her printed sweater than her molded plastic bangs? Cuz that's the scam, man! That's the SCAM!
@metaspencer Жыл бұрын
And there I was thinking that molded plastic bangs were so normal. Mackerel yarn is flooding the yarn shops around here!

The lovely blue light that your new sign gives off has the unfortunate effect of distorting the colors of the yarn you show. Just sayin.
