As a Venom fan and comic reader, not really a fan of these. Despite the claim of embracing their protector role like their 616 counterpart most of these I would consider OOC for not being truly earnest about that claim and it's Eddie whose supposed to be in the driver's seat. (which I guess is influence from the Venom movies and one of my few gripes about that adaption as well) The only thing they got spot on is the obscure dislike of Tony and Spider-Man holding a grudge. Unlike in otherwise good adaptions like MUA3 or Midnight Suns where Peter is very forgiving, in the comics Peter held a grudge despite both Eddie and the symbiote forgiving a long time ago, it took Flash constantly calling out Peter and then dieing to the Red Goblin to get Peter to finally forgive Venom, which then allowed Peter and Eddie to finally become genuine friends.

I disagree, I like how they combined several aspects from the different portrayals of Venom. It wouldn't be very interesting if he was just a complete copy, this Venom is pretty entertaining. He's a bad person trying to be good despite himself, he's a richly flawed character.

@@chickenboi6919 Never said they had to be a complete copy, (MUA3 and Midnight Suns are far from being 616 copies) if you were paying attention my main gripe was how they weren't really that earnest about trying to be good. While responsibility is the one word that sums up every good Spidey, redemption is Venom's. Venom should have no issue with protecting those web strands.
