I am an unabashed Buck fanboy. Love their history, their company ethos and absolutely love their American made products. Fantastic review brother.

Just got my Buck 119 and really love it. It's much better quality than I thought. I can't see how they can get it better than it is. Excellent knife for sure.

I also saw it in Saw VI at the beginning where a pound of flesh was required and the girl started to cut her arm off with it but had to use the meat cleaver to cut through the bone, the guy across used it to cut his stomach with it. Also saw it briefly in Deafall where the Native guy sliced of Eric bana's fingers off with the 119 but ended up getting stabbed himself. I haven't seen Red Dawn since I was a kid but I will definitely check that one out, thanks for mentioning it because I love watching movies that showcase a knife that I own and love. The 119 has appeared briefly in a few movies but I find people get confused with the 120 like in Scream which you are right about. Man, I can't wait to get my custom 119 in S30V!!! I see a lot of Kabars in movies too, which is one of my favorite knives as well. Love a knife and wonder if it has been in a movie or two? Hit me up!!

Yeah it's fun seeing knives I like in movies! I think I remember watching that one with Eric Bana you mentioned. Will have to look it up again!

I’m really digging this series!👍🏻 I bought my Buck 119 when I was in high school back in the early 90’s. And while yea, it’s an excellent knife, I like my Ka Bar better. Reason being is the 119 handles get very slick while working with it and I can only get three fingers around that handle. Same goes with my Case bowies. My Ka Bar allows me to use most of my full grip and it’s leather handle won’t slip under any condition. My Ontario marine raider and my Western W49 bowie have handles that are a better fit for my 3X paws👍🏻

@@isaacs_knives_and_knowledge what do you think between these and the gck?
@isaacs_knives_and_knowledge3 жыл бұрын
@@shawnlizeleatherdale4052 Definitely lots to factor in with that comparison. If going into combat I would definitely choose the GCK. It's made of a tougher high carbon 5160 steel and has a grippy micarta handle. Also full tang and could be a potential work horse and take a beating. Both the GCK and 119 would be superb piercers. 119 is stainless steel and less likely to get rust spots than the GCK. Price point could be an issue to compare. The GCK is twice as expensive as the 119. They are very different knives and hard to compare. Donnie B All Day channel just did a video on the GCK. Please check it out to see it in action and watch his video on the 119 as well. Both exceptional knives but different.
