My dad LOVED this movie. It was so fun for him how all the little things came together and when i got home from college to quaratine with them for the summer, he was really excited to show me it. I was able to guess the culprit, they chose the obvious candidate but it was still a great movie and story. Great characters and actors and a crazy plot

The script on this video reminds me that I wrote this essay not too long ago about the simple topic of why I liked the matrix... that turned into a 20+ page essay (hand written no less) about the action genre itself in which I have to explain the career of producer Joel Silver. I was just writing this essay *for fun* about why I liked a movie and I couldn’t just do that, because I was writing in a video essay style I felt compelled to write something that made a bigger point than: “This movie good, this is why I think movie good”. I don’t think that writing about the action genre was bad to try doing in order to explain the context which allowed the matrix to be both successful and influential, but there was a point where I realised how long it was taking me to talk about the matrix itself and I had to step away. The essay had really served its purpose by then, since I don’t publish essays publicly anywhere it was mostly an exercise to get the juices flowing for other creative projects anyway. It took me a while to work out why I was sharing this info in this comment, then I remembered I started the essay because of your content. The video about the homestuck fanfic and on the earlier Wachowski film “Bound”. I remembered that you’d hinted at a matrix video and I didn’t know if you were ever going to make it so I decided: “I’ll just write my own matrix essay! For fun!” That’s not me calling you out for not making that video by the way, it’s just me saying thank-you. Thank-you for helping me not only get out of a creative rut, but also for getting me to write about something out of my comfort zone for essays. I’m glad that you’re back.

Hey, I just wanted you to know that I found your videos and have been really enjoying listening to your critiques on movies and games. Its been a hell of a time lately, and your funny, well thought out, and engaging video essays have really been a great thing to be able to watch for when my depression and anxiety go "Try to listen to anything more than a youtube video and I will ensure that you will forget every plot point and go into the scroll-hole that is App of the Week on your phone." So, thanks.

It's a big halo of knives that all point at someone's head if there sitting in the right spot. I can't remember if it's actually stated in the film or I just assumed that it's a recreation of a prop from one of Harlan's murder mystery novels.
@HotBlasterBot4 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't sell your video short as a "glorified 'top five Knives out easter eggs' listicle" because it can be an insightful video for an aspiring mass media artist. The particular framing of the Hollywood Style you gave, allows artists to consider whether or not to actively partake in it when creating their craft and how to effectively do so. edit: relating to the topic of Communist Revolution, this might be wishful thinking but, if somebody with a commie script, design doc or what have you were to engage their co-workers into standing up for their rights, perhaps in a syndicalist way; pitching a commie media with Hollywood Style trappings could sweeten the deal to compel the workers to convince higher management to greenlight the project.

The old mail char and the papers invisible ink mark arr not necessary relevant for you to known about the invisible ink setup. Because invisible inke is a classical element in detective stories, if you are savvy spectator to see those things, is probable you known about this trope. To be clear, I am not saying the movie is less because of that. A dare to say it is more, because it giver mote than one avenue for the spectator to get the same right conclusion. My only problem with this film is with Daniel Craig craft. I don't think he is the right mix between Clouseau and Poirot, but that is more a personal taste than a objective analyses.

Knives Out. One of the most overrated movies in years. The plot is basic, the "twists" are predictable. Those praising it are doing pretentious mental gymnastics imo.
