I think one of the reasons Jax is a sadistic freak is because it's a form of rebellion. He doesn't play along with Cain's games. He instead with his limited autonomy acts the opposite of family friendly and breaks them. He's a hedonistic absurdist because there's nothing sustainable for a living human being in the Digital Circus. That will create outliers that respond in an extreme way like Jax. Great song, I like that it gives him dimension without turning him into a 'woobie'.

I really love how the song explains Jax's personality and behavior perfectly imo. His selfish and careless behavior is his fear of abstraction. Well, just look at kauftmo, he seem genuinely sad when they mentioned his funeral, just for a second his face soften.. Just to quickly snap back to his persona and go away... That's why they put such focus in this song about the "knock knock" is a type common of joke, yes jax does jokes an pranks and stuff, but the "knock knock" actually reminds more of the character of kauftmo, always doing bad jokes, the only character who's death really seem like affected jax... It was also kauftmo hands shown on that part of the song, jax also share his bowling ball to kauftmo, and also had the nickname kofee for him, it actually is posible those two were close... There should be an episode (fanon or canon) where Jax does a "harmless" prank/joke in his eyes just wanting to get a reaction out of everyone, but his prank backfires and everyone isn't necessarily mad, just disappointed in him and stop talkjng to him, no longer giving him the reactions that he wants, ignoring his comments, and no longer falling for his tricks and actually confronting him about it, etc. Jax at first still thinks its funny or whatever and everyone's overreacting, but he then realizes that his prank/joke wasnt actually funny and regrets it and then has a moment of clarity. One thing about this song is that, at parts like 0:32, it horrifically reminds me of an experience I had during an annual event my school hosted. The teachers were announcing winners and stuff, and I felt two taps on my back every time. At first I thought it was my friend messing around, because the person behind me was way too far to touch me unnoticed. But I was wrong, and it kept going until I felt like Pomni about to abstract. Eventually another classmate lightly berated the person who touched me, though this experience will remain in my memory and cherish it. This song will remind me of the experience. I… honestly wow this is amazing. The animation’s great, the song’s great, just… yeah this is amazing. I relate way too hard to this for it to be healthy, it’s a lot easier than some people would think to fall into this kind of attitude and I’m glad I’ve grown out of it through the love and support of my friends and family. I do still do this in especially stressful situations full of people I don’t like though, whether it be through being hypocritical and submissive or just being a jerk in general. I don’t blame this interpretation of Jax for being like this anyways, I did the same in the psyche ward when I was surrounded by submissive people who judged others harder than I ever could and just… delusional narcissists in general. The circus is like that but worse. It’s just amazing. Nice going dude! Jax doesn’t seem to be going in the more sympathetic direction that I hoped but I’ll enjoy The Amazing Digital Circus anyways!
