I've volunteered the last 2 years at Knockan and it's my firm opinion that this documentary accurately encapsulates the atmosphere and life of Knockanstockan. Thank you to the team behind the doc and the team behind Knockan!

A Dublin rock band lead singer and a Laois man have both been jailed for six years after the discovery of drugs worth over €400,000 in a car on the M7 motorway. David Griffin, 39, from Drimnagh, and Daniel Burke, 37, from Mountrath, both received six-year prison sentences - with a portion of each suspended at Portlaoise court today. On 24 February 2017 the 39-year-old musician from Drimnagh was in a car stopped by gardaí on the M7 motorway near Borris-in-Ossory when 20kg of cannabis was found in black bags, with some of it concealed in a musical drum in the boot. Gardaí confirmed Griffin had received the drugs - with a value of €400,000 - from Daniel Burke from Mountrath, and after searching his house, cocaine and four bags of the head-shop product PVP were discovered. In Portlaoise circuit court today Judge Keenan Johnson was told each of the accused was acting as an intermediary for another person behind the drug trade. Judge Johnson said this was a very serious offence and both men had made decisions. The judge imposed a six-year sentence on Griffin with the final four years and six months suspended. He imposed a six-year sentence on Burke with two years suspended.

Please please don't turn into one of those sellout capitalist festivals. I have been to Knockanstockan last year for the first time and it is something very special, dear and famial. It feels like home.
