The thing that it was doing when you first plugged it in is something similar that happens when I power up my 2011 gemmy caged skeleton it will do stuff but the audio won’t play and the button won’t do anything except it does it continuously, any idea what the problem could be?

Around 5 volts, if that doesn’t work use a 6 volt, nothing above. I’d rather not try anything until you find out what the amps are yourself since im not sure
