I agreed with just about everything you said. Do your research and find out who was the owner, HOW OLD WAS HE/SHE, were the miles local or highway, etc. I’m 60 years old. My hard driving days are over. I drove Iroc Z28’s and Trans Ams in my 20’s & 30’s. I drove a Contour and Taurus from 1995-2014. I got my 1st 100th Anniversary Charger in 2014. I traded that for a 2017 R/T Charger. I absolutely hated that car because it wasn’t fully loaded. I traded that in December 2019 and got the Charger I wanted. My 2019 Daytona Scat Pack Charger turned out to be my retirement present to myself. I absolutely enjoy this car! Since I’m older, I drive my car like I have sense. 25-30 years ago, I would’ve tried burnouts, doughnuts, drifts, drag racing, and everything else that comes with being “young and dumb”. I tell my son, grandson, and granddaughter, “you have to be 55 and older to drive my car”. If they take it out, I put it in valet mode so My Monster won’t get dogged. My ride has every option in it. The reason I passed on The Hellcat is because I don’t own a gas station. Currently, I have 73,500 miles on it. I never had any problems with my car. I took those crappy Pirelli P Zero summer tire that came with it off and put Goodyear Eagle Xllilerates on my car instead. My Daytona rides so much better. All I’m saying is just do your homework on the R/T, Scat, or Hellcat you want to buy. Not all of “us” who own these Chargers run them into the ground. I hope to see you guys at a car meet in Charlotte one day soon. DJ Woody Wood New Jersey

Granted, can you find at a dealer a car that has been beat on? Yes, but if you're the second owner, under warranty, then I wouldnt worry that much.

Later went in to the dodge near my house because of a dang headlight issue I couldn't fix DIY and then they told me it had a dang coolant pump leak. LUCKILY it was still under manufacturer warranty. After that I made my way to my bank for an extended warranty for all repairs up to 110k miles lol. No issues since. Knock on wood*. Well I don't like dealerships because they always try to play me for stupid. Yeah people are going to show off at car shows but I don't generalize people. A reputable dealership will condition their vehicles to make them road worthy and you'll have to feel out a private owner. If they advocate driving crazy or see how they talk during the test drive, then steer clear. Like most Corvette owners drive like old people and I have to pass them all the time. I don't understand why so many people have all that power and don't do anything with it.

I would never buy a car of this type used…because I know why everyone buys them to begin with…to go hard. And the reason they get out of them is because they know what they did to them. No sir. I only buy these cars new and break the engine in myself. These other guys are buying them off the lot and racing all the way home on a new engine. I bought both my Challenger and Charger new. Wouldn’t do it any other way. And to your point, for every 1 that is good, there are 9 beat on! And there is no way to really know.
