I downloaded the studio version of this song out of curiousity, and I ended up liking this version a lot better; it feels so much more genuine without the autotune in the chorus.

Let's just appreciate Them both... comparisons are for competition. That's not what Watsky is about, nor Gambino. Not sure what race has to do with it... Unless you're talking about "Color Lines" a track that tried to express the duality of racial conversations we're afraid to discuss ourselves. "One down ass white boy, can't pay for reperations."

Watsky, you're the only rapper I listen to on a consistent basis. Rap really isn't my thing, and I FUCKING LOVE YOU. Please never change your style. Too many people try to switch up their shit later, and everyone ends up falling off the fan wagon. I supremely heart you!! Keep coming with those beautiful words. You could rap me to sleep *_*

i'm pretty sure watsky wasn't copying anyone. you forget that he was a spoken word poet long before he put out rap videos. thus, it's only natural that he would have a inclination to rap in spoken word form. that's his style, founded before he even started rapping.
