I got this tour once. It was awesome. If you want, here's the story: I had ridden this ride when I was about four. It scared me to death, so it has always been pretty scary for me, but I have also loved it ever since. I would go in there, trying to keep my eyes open for the whole ride. It never happened. But, one time we were going here as my birthday present in about 2013 or 2014. On the ride there, we stopped at a gas station to get some snacks. My mom had a "call" to make, and I just assumed it was something for work, but what I didn't know was that call was to Knoebels. She was asking to make a deal to get a tour of the Haunted Mansion for me. So, we had a normal day at Knoebels, fun like usual, but then the park was closing. My family was pushing me to get one last ride on the Haunted Mansion, even though they probably wouldn't let us on and everyone knew that. So, we went to the front and some workers in a golf cart pulled up to the entrance. My parents kind of played along, saying things like "what are you doing here?" and the workers said back "oh, we are just checking up the ride. Wanna come with us?" At this point I still didn't get this was planned, I legit thought that we had just gotten a free tour of the ride out of nowhere. But, sure enough, we went inside with a worker or two, they turned the lights on, and told us all the secrets and history of the ride.

Same here. Honestly, I think it is so cool that this ride was basically made all out of recycled items. Shows the charm in Knoebels.

My nephew is a child with a chronic illness. Max is my great nephew and he was nominated for a wish from ‘Give Kids the World ‘ by his doctor. They are an AWESOME organization and I am so grateful that the auction proceeds went to them. Max’s mother is my niece and she is also a cancer survivor (pancreatic cancer) and Max’s brother is a special needs child who is also a traumatic brain injury survivor. Give Kids the World sent my nieces whole family and her mother to a once in a lifetime trip to Walt Disney World in Florida. Thank you so much! I grew up 15 minutes from Knoebels and I have many wonderful memories of going there as a child! My husband and I relocated back home 5 years ago when my niece fell ill. I still look forward to opening weekend every year. I really like your videos and I hope that you continue to do them.

This was a fun bit of nostalgia. I used to love this ride back in the day, and it was great to learn a little more about some of the ride features.

I remember the snake coming out of the clock , the organ player , the oven , the puff of air ( no matter how many times we rode that ride it always got me , lol ) , the room before going up I the attic was just a room with a flashing strobe light , going up in the attic they use to have a line of what we believed was angel hair hanging down the would go across your face . Remember the air horn with the truck lights , we thought we were going to get run over the first time on the ride . Loved the waterfall we thought we were going to get cooled off , darn . All of those that I remember was for the 70's but I do love all the new stuff they put in there . Made a lot of great memories of Knobels from the 60's and 70's . Was sad when I found out the roller rink is no longer there and some of the rides back them are gone but they put in a lot of great rides . Love and miss Knobles.

As a theme park enthusiast- and an Orlando local...Disney parks guru.. I was born and raised in north east PA and have spent more time at knoebels than anywhere in the world. There is absolutely nothing like it anywhere in the world, and I get a serious high off bringing friends from other states and countries to go with me. In 1987 my parents took me on this ride for the first time....it took me till at least 1997 to grow a pair and go on it again (I was 12). So even though I lost out on a few years there, I’ve still been on this 200+ times at least..this has to be the coolest ever as far as a BTS lights on video. Absolutely awesome, and I am so jealous... Congratulations on this epic opportunity, I’m actually in PA now visiting my parents....was at the park last weekend and going again next Tuesday before I fly back home to Florida. Anyone else that’s reading this and would like to meet up and gush over tech aspects and just fankid out shoot me a message ! I’m full of knoebels lore and old ride info!

This is an amazing video of a truly outstanding ride and amusement park. I live about an hour away from this park and absolutely love it. The Knoebel family, their managers, and staff do outstanding work day in and day out every year. I have been to this park several times each year and have been there on business as well and talked with the Knoebel family and they are some of the most patient, nicest, humble, and genuinely caring people you could ever wish to meet. All of this comes with the tremendous weight of running such a large scale operation that would probably be very trying to most families even in the best of times. Like I said, I really cannot overstate how special this place is and what great work they do keeping it an amazing destination for family fun for generations. I hope it retains its charm and family ownership for the next 100+years. I really wish that everyone in America could visit this place at least once to get a true feel of what this place is like. Knoebels isn't the only amusement park out there, but they are certainly among the BEST at what they do!

Wow. Pretty neat tour. :) I used to go camping at a campground nearby every year with my family as a kid, and I used to go to Knoebels every year for my birthday for a few years, and I went in for a handful of the years I went there and did get scared of it. Looking back on it now, Knoebels is pretty iconic to me because it was apart of my life as a kid looking forward to going there each year for my birthday, and even though I didn't go in this haunted house every year I did go, sometimes if I remember right it was simply closed, it still holds a spot in my heart.

@@JPVideos81 Great Adventure is the same way. In order to even get paid you have to stand on long, long, lines to pick up your check, least that's the way it was when I was working at the Great Adventure in Jackson New Jersey. I was working on shows (meaning back stage), in shows (on stage), worked behind the sceans at stunts shows like Batman did security during season and after closeing. I barely got paid at all !! In all I figured it out and it was at least $6,000. I got jipped out of. When you're there from 8 am till 1 pm like almost every day you're not always thinking right as far as pay and all. But I LOVED IT. I loved what I did there, the stuff you got to learn, the people you get to meet. I got to meet Barry Manilow before he was a mega star and one of the nicest folks was David Jones. Being bored I made up some silly words to the Monkee theme song as I cleaned the 'stars' dressing room and hadden't noticed Mr. Jones haven come in. He just staired at me then cracked up laughing. I asked him if he'd like my autograph, he cracked up even more. Yeah they're 'stars' but they're just reg folks with cool great paying jobs.
