Cool to see this old footage. I do think Knobles is better today with their wooden coasters but it's always cool to see where a park was before their crowning pride came in.

AWESOME! One of the millions of things I love about that place is that nothing changes :) :)

Living in Union County my entire 35 years now, I have been going to Knoebels since probably around 1982. I remember the Jet-Star fondly, it was a great ride. You would go down the first hill and snap into a hard right hand turn. In my early 20's, my friends and I would ride the log flume ride and absolutely soak each other thru the tunnel. Knoebels is a real treasure, and I for one appreciate what the Knoebel's family has done, giving us central PA residents a fun place to go for so many years.

my family have been going to Knoebles for 30 years. This vid has brought back many good memories. my hope is that the park retains its small town feel and charm. I know it has to grow to keep up with the times, but I always love Knoebles best in the early morning, when it is just the campers in the camp ground and the park is just starting to come to life. It is more magical than Disney, to me and my family...Just wanted to thank you for posting this.

very nice to see the park 25 years ago before the Phoenix was relocated there. This park is indeed a true gem. One can only imagine what they have in store after the Flying Turns.

I remember going to Knoebels when I was 4 years old. I remember the ride on the Flyer it is such a great ride. I remember going on I think it is called the Roto Jets or something and of course the Paratrooper. What a great classic park better than Dorney and Hershey I will bring my children to Knoebels I go every single year and always still enjoy myself it brings out the kid in me. I can't wait for Flying Turns to be completed and I can't wait to ride it ! I am so excited to go to KNOEBELS.

apart of the old ferris wheel is in the mining building in the back of the park
@gfh11014 жыл бұрын
@chris921973 The old Ferris wheel was located in the area where the Italian Trapeze now stands if I remember correctly. It was tiny compared to the current wheel which is 110 feet tall, the tallest in Pennsylvania. If my memory is correct, the Ferris wheel in this video had metal "screens" installed on the sides of the chairs at some point to prevent people from sticking their arms out the sides.

most days i work on the hand cars. 1:57 that clips is of the 3 cars coming around the last turn and down the straightaway. the turn right there at the tree is the top of a hill that most children get stuck at... if i can see them good enough i could tell you which cars they were riding in. in order first to last car 7, 2, and i believe 5, but im not quite sure.

@irishrage32 Whirlwind was a steel coaster almost 50 feet high that had 2 corkscrews. It was a very short ride. It was located right next to the Flyer.

The Jetstar at 1:08 and then in the background shot of the flyers. Too bad they tore that coaster down, it was way more fun then the STUPID Whirlwind they put up. Tore that down to put up the Flying Turns. Hope they soon get it done and running. Been waiting a couple years now to ride that.
