This may be a bit over kill, but a single constrictor knot would be the closest you can possibly get to using a hose clamp. It's a great knot especially if you give it another wrap, it becomes a double constrictor.

You're not wrong, it's a great knot but it can be difficult to undo. I guess that's the point though...

The 2nd turn looks like a turn and a half. Looks good man.

Good Illustration but plain cord would be less confusing visually.

I was led to believe that the miller’s knot had a quick release. Is this a variation?
@ukguy13 жыл бұрын
thanks, will this hold weight? i.e. would I be able to hang a sandbag to use as a punchbag with this?
@najroe11 жыл бұрын
hmm. same knot is used to secure the hookleads to the braided mainline (100-1200 hooks). Some use a short loop for that last tuck, then it can be quickly undone, personally I don´t as it is one more thing to go wrong,

I worked at Hopkins Water Mill in Garrettsville, Ohio for 5 years and I tied that knot every day, we bagged everything from horse feed to bird seed...

Does this confer advantage over the constrictor?
@Nein1ron7 жыл бұрын
James Carpenter yes. It's easier than a constrictor, both to tie and untie. It binds tight, but I'm not sure if it is as tight as the constrictor. The constrictor would probably be more for more permanent things, like fencing and the like.

If you remove the millers knot from the sack without untiring it you will have a knot that is the OCTOPUS and just like an octopus can be manipulated into many other knots such as from abok 521 intermediate knot 525 the tweenie 227 Honda knot 781 two strand diamond knot 783 two strand footrope knot 1452 Ashley's bend there are others including a two strand Matthew walker with 3turns

Seems easier to loosen than a true constrictor.. Also the cordage lines are not in line with each other
@Nein1ron7 жыл бұрын
Duggy Dugg it is. I use it more than a constrictor, for chip bags and things like that.
