It’s a pattern idea, or component, so to speak. How long you need your cords to be will depend on your design plan for your individual (and ideally unique) piece.

They don’t really look like circles with only four cords, so not really. You can switch up the order that you use the middle cords so to pull them to each side as you tie the bottom half.

Cord length will depend on how long you want your piece to be. I don’t specify length because it will depend on many variables, including size of cord, tension of your knots, the rest of your design.

Hello! Beautiful tutorial. I am attempting to create a wall hanging entirely of the circles in various sizes and placement. The finished piece ideally would be 36" length and 30" height. Can you guesstimate how long my cords should be? I am using 4mm twisted cotton cord. Thank you!

Make a circle or two and measure how much cord it uses up. Use that info to estimate. Also learn how to add cord in case you run out. Good luck!

Length ultimately depends on what you plan to do with the pattern, the size of your cord, how tight you tie your knots. You could start with anywhere between 8 and 12 feet of cord.

This is great , but it is far from helpful and very aggravating when you speed up the video. You're not speaking and drawing it out so at least keep it at normal speed ,otherwise you're creating another waste of time because I have to keep watching it over and over to insure I saw it correctly. JS.
