I was born 2 years after moa opened. The mall was basically my childhood. I miss camp snoopy so much. The mall ain't the same anymore.

Me too. My whole family lives in MN and we went every year around christmas and stayed in the embassy suites next door. It was literally like heaven for me, I have sooo many memories there in the 90s. I think about Camp Snoopy all the time, I can't believe they changed it

Great video! Camp Snoopy opened in 1992. Nickelodeon has existed since 1979 and began creating original programs in 1991.

I used to live in Minnesota. I left in 2002 😕. I still remember eating churros while aimlessly walking around Camp Snoopy. Thanks for the video! This brought back so many memories!

Nice job! I wish I could have experienced this park with the Peanuts characters, but thankfully the Nickelodeon theming is vibrant. One small thing is that Timberland Twister was added sometime after the park opening.

I worked at Camp Snoopy from 1998-2002. Timberland Twister had not been built yet at that point in time, so could not have been there at the time it opened.

Also after the Nickelodeon remodel, signs with character circles were added in some areas throughout the park.

The Mighty Axe and Timberland Twister did NOT open with the park in 1992. Timberland Twister was not added until Cedar Fair lost the rights to operate the Park at the Mall of America. The Mighty Axe was added in the late 90s.

Man do I remember Kids Quest I was 5 years old back in 2007. I remember it because my mother had brought me there and left me there which was scary because I could not handle hanging out with other kids some who where older than me and one time someone who was bully decided to shove me through the force of their hand onto my upper shoulders that is how I remember that place. That was also the day my mother got me a new wooden train set that had a washing machine and man was it nice. It had to have been a Thomas The Train I believe it was. I remember Kids Quest had a carpeted walkway that went at a 10 degree angle. I also removed it had a bunch of platforms on it. Also I wish they would bring the creek back sadly Avatar Airbender removed the central fountain feature I might or may not have remembered and the SpongeBob fountain they got rid of back in 2016 when they built FlyOver America. That was one of the last water features outside of the Log Chute area. It would be nice if they brought back the creek.

Timberland Twister, now known as Fairly Odd Coaster, opened in March of 2004. Not when the park opened. Great video otherwise!

Mighty Axe being renamed to Tak Attack, as fhey mention at 14:14 also didn't happen until the Nickelodeon switch, as Tak is a character from that company. Video said the name changed occurred when it went to The Parks at MOA.

Fun video, but multiple inaccurate facts I noticed. Like the Pepsi coaster manufacturer (Zierer) and the fact that ripsaw opened in 2004 not with the park, as were pointed out already. Dorney Park got their Camp Snoopy in 2000, which later became Planet Snoopy that may have been around 2011. WoF also had a Camp Snoopy around the same time that Dorney did. Also, Nickelodeon didn't exist when the park opened??? What?
@northstarcoasters3 жыл бұрын
thanks for fact checking! i did not know that dorney park and worlds of fun got their camp snoopy in 2000 and 2011. but Pepsi Ripsaw (now Pepsi orange streak) opened in august of 1992 according to Roller Coaster Database

I am from Minnesota and I have had a few jobs at the mall of america when it first opened for maybe the next 15 year after that. I just wanted to make a correction in your video. At 8:18 you stated the mall had an indoor roller skating rink. The mall has never had an indoor roller skating rink ever. The clip showing the people skating is at the MOA but it is not a roller skating rink and I have no idea what it is for. Thanks , great video by the way.

Disneyland opened on July 17th, not June 17th. Knott’s attendance did not take a hit after Disneyland opened. It wasn’t until much later. Charles Schultz did not live in Minnesota at the time of Camp Snoopy. He was only born there. As an adult he lived, and his studio, was in Santa Rosa California. Timberland Twister did NOT open with the park. It was added in 2004. So many factual errors in one video. Did you do any research before making this?

Too bad the Jimmy Neutron ride was demolished and replaced with the Paw Patrol Adventure Bay play area for toddlers. 😒 And the balloon ride is now the Bubble Guppies ride. What was the Jimmy Neutron ride called before?

Jimmy Neutron’s Atomic Collider. I went to the mall for the first time since 2017 just the other day and was sad to see it gone. I was born in 2000 and live in Milwaukee, but every summer between 2007 and high school me and my mother would drive up and stay at the mall of America for an entire week.

Ok not to be that guy but at the beginning you said there was no such thing as nickelodeon when MOA opened in 1992...FYI 1992 is when Ren n Stimpy started airing on nick about 10 years after the channel started in the early 80s.
