Mark! You really should do a series on knottin with rings like you did with Turks heads because I would love to see you teach how to expand these or make them talller I’ve tried and the end result looks less then handsome

Or, more easily, use two split rings through the cord as variants on a sheepshank.

What you did here is a one strand warp / weft situation. You can make a lot of patterns this way depending on your overs and unders. You should explore some more and do a more elaborate thing with more turns and a pattern.
