Know all about GeM Product Listing

Government e-Marketplace is an online portal where the government bodies place tender and buy products from registered sellers.
But one question always arises in our mind that how can we sell products on the GeM portal?
In order to sell products on the GeM portal, you have to undergo following in two stages:-
First Step:- Obtain a GeM registration for your business.
Second Step:- List your products or services on the GeM portal.
Another question is:- How to list products or services on the GeM portal?
There are certain steps to list the products & services.
We will discuss them in detail:-
#1. Give BASIC INFORMATION for products:
The trader has to mention the following of product:
(a) Category of the Product & their sub-category
(b) Name of the product
(c) Product Description
(d) Brand of product
(e) Product Model
(f) HSN Code
(g) SKU id
#2. QUANTITY OF THE PRODUCT
The seller has to quote the available stock of the product.
#3. PRICE OF THE PRODUCT
The sellers now have to quote different types of price of the product:
MRP
Offer Price (incl. of all taxes)
Note: Offer-Price must be 10% less than MRP.
#4. SPECIFIC DETAILS
Now the seller has to furnish technical information such as:
(a) Size
(b) Height
(c) Weight
(d) Dimensions
(e) Quality
(f) Color and
(g) Usage of the products
#5. PRODUCT IMAGES
Now, the sellers have to upload clear photos of the product.
Tips to upload product image:-
(a) Clean white background without watermark, and brand logo
(b) Maximum Image size: 300KB
(c) Acceptable file format: jpg or png
(d) 3 center-aligned images from 3 different angles.
(e) Product description, certification not allowed
(f) Incomplete product image, diagrams or sketches not allowed.
(g) Edited image using various tools, not allowed.
(h) Only a single product image allowed.
(i) Images of product packaging not allowed.
(j) Name of your company on Product image not allowed.
