This is one of the best vehicles that Lexus has ever built. I have owned it for about 3 weeks now in luxury trim. Range is the downside for those of you who need this as your only vehicle .. I travel back and forth to work and so far just using a level 1 charger at home and work sometimes. I also use it on the weekends around town and have no real issues with it. When I compare it with the Tesla products its build quality is so much better.

So you haven’t even had it for six months and you already claiming it’s the best car Lexus has created ? You must have been used to driving old beat up cars before this. Let us know when you have had it over a year or had to take it to the service dept for service.

@@ede4345 I'm with Kevin above. I have had mine for a week, and it is the best Toyota/Lexus I have ever owned. And I started with Toyota in 1986-2012, and Lexus 300, RX350, and 300h 2013-2024. So if you can't accept that Lexus is the best luxury EV under $65K then go suck on sour grapes! Forget the range crap...Lexus will rent you a gas rig for nothing if you don't want to drive from charger to charger cross country...

I own one traded in my UX hybrid, definitely the only real downside is range and no sunroof which really bites. As for range, depending on your driving habits you either have to charge every night at home Level 1 or Level 2. My driving habits have led to 80% charge returning 150 miles which I make last about 3 days before charging up again, I usually plug-in at around 40 or 50% and have 80% charge in about 5 hours on Level 2 at home. Lexus also offers 30 complimentary days of using a courtesy vehicle so we don't have to use our EV at all. The point is not to get away from gas completely but moderation until the infrastructure is ready to go. It's a poor attempt but they dipped their toes, looking forward to seeing what they can do in the next 5 to 10 years after perfecting hybridization.

I’ve always wanted a Lexus until now. I have got to see out of my car. I drive 14 miles back and forth 5 days a week. Still the 196 mile range worries me. I do get that it’s an awesome luxury brand of a car. Maybe it would be the ride for me for formal or serious occasions 👍🏾😀🚗. Go Lexus! WhooHOOO!

Thanks for the comment. While you are right, the RZ 450e is comfortable and the quality is sure to be top notch, it still falls short compared to other electric vehicles in the market, and we're not the only ones to point this out. But youtube vloggers can say what they want, some, most, get paid for it to plug a brand and bashing Toyota/lexus comes as standard script.

@@avdp9095 The VinFast VF8 has a similar warranty. We also have no idea how the used market is going to play out here, especially since most EVs have an 8 year warranty (so you can still sell after a few years). It's cool you like the Lexus. We liked a lot of the Lexus when we first drove it. But it's not our favorite and we're sorry that our opinion of the car doesn't match yours. Doesn't make us paid shills.

The issue was that there was a recall because the wheels was under torqued at the factory by 5nm and ALL the effected cars was still in dealer lots so no customer drove the car yet anyway...so hardly a serious issue but evpulse still libel Toyota with lie ), lol comparing at comparing korean hyundai/genisis junk to the Lexus RZ in terms of build quality, reliability, resale etc is ridiculous . My frustration with Toyota is that their whole EV line is riddled with compromises: 1) Inadequate range of perhaps 150 to 170 miles during the winter months. 2) a charging system that has a slow charge rate that ramps down to nearly zero when 80% charge is approached. 3) a substandard integration of the heat pump and battery thermal system resulting in excessive duplication of hoses, radiators and valves (one of the reasons for no frunk.) 4. An astronomically high price as when compared to the competition from BMW, Genesis and even Tesla. And because it’s from Japan, no tax credit adds a further insult. To me, buying this Lexus would be like going to McDonalds and getting a cheeseburger wrapped up in a mink wrapper!

The latest episode of Consumer Reports Talking Cars has a question near the end of the episode discussing upcoming EVs. Their conclusion was that it’s not a great time right now to buy an EV because companies are just establishing their production pipelines. What are your thoughts? Should people wait a year or two for superior choice?
@EVPulse

I usually keep vehicles about 7 years, and my current vehicle is 6.5 years old and I'd rather buy an EV right now. I don't want to wait another 2 years to make a decision on new models. This space will evolve quickly with solid state batteries, longer range, shorter charging time. So in 2 years, I can see forums saying "just wait another 2 years for these features..." I would love a 300-500 mile and faster charging to 80%, but my daily driving is well within a 200 mile range and I still have a second ICE vehicle for longer trips.

Thanks for sharing this video. I am totally impressed with the features of the vehicle. One or two big weaknesses. Range and rapid charging time. They’re out in left field when it comes to range. The rapid charging time can be a little better. Seems as though Lexus/Toyota/Subaru entered the EV market late. If the Lexus had a 300 mile range and rapid charging time of about 20 minutes, I would’ve considered it in a heartbeat! Sorry to say, I bought the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Range is at 266 miles on the all wheel drive limited trim and rapid charge time of less than 20 minutes . I originally had the Subaru Solterra on reserve, but had to cancel because of the embarrassing recall on the front wheels falling off. In a way, I’m glad went with the Hyundai Ioniq 5. I travel from Baltimore to New York often and I need the range and faster charging time. I’ve taken the trip to New York and back a few months ago with no problems. Planning to make the trip with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 next week. In fact, I can get over 320 miles of range!!!!

@@AutoEsoterica Craig, thanks for the wonderful reply. I’ve had the Ioniq 5 since the first week in November. Still haven’t reached the 5000 mile mark. Planning to make a trip to New York next week. This will be my second trip to New York with the Ioniq 5. Where I’m staying is about 210 miles from my home in Baltimore. If I had the Lexus 450e, I probably wouldn’t be able to make it on a full charge. The last trip to New York, my Ioniq 5 was charge to 100% with 309 miles of range. I stopped In Elizabeth, New Jersey to charge up. I had about 96 miles remaining at that point. If I couldn’t find an Electrify America charging station, I still would’ve made it to Brooklyn on a single charge with about 75 miles to spare. With the Lexus RZ450e, I wouldn’t be able to make it on a single charge.! BTW, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 comes with free complimentary fast charging 30 minute sessions for 2 years. It takes me about 20 minute to charge from 10 to 80 %
