I'm no Ronaldo fanboy or something but I do think the Finalissima was restarted this year onwards because it might have crossed the federations' minds that this might be Messi's final international tophy and it generates more revenue obviously. Connmebol has been working on improving football in its continent and reviving Finalissima is one of those steps, so I don't think it has anything to do with Messi etc... Anyways. Because of the increased number of games in club level....i dnt agree that the national friendlies ( few matches or a league) should be pushed aside.... And if players are getting overworked and blah blah blah, then club level leagues shld reduce match nmbrs or it could be a very good chance for reserves and substitutes to get more match time. In the upcoming years there will be more matches in champions league.. Ofcourse players and clubs have to be very careful abt their performance. And I personally dont consider Finalissima as a cup. What ls the problem to have just one match between copa winner and euro winner. Finalissima was not conducted just for Messi. It was initiated long time the first match played in the year 1985 and then in the year 1993 and again it was relaunched in 2022. And both the teams of 2022 finalissima, Italy and Argentina had equal chances of winning the trophy. So you can't say that it's s trophy created just for Messi. And whoever is thinking that way then that's a very stupid concept to have !!
