@JashneRekhtaOfficial I have read her work on Ghalib. Rekhta is ambitious and rightly so, for reaching out to such intellectuals. We have heard and admired Faruqui sahab but listening to Mehr is truly enriching. Her expertise is impressive and inspiring. Irfan sahab hamaare favorite hain. Unki chuppi, gaps aur soft tone bahut pyaari hai.. Bahut Prem Mehr ko, Irfan ko aur Rekhta ko.

Aadab! Behtareen adabi guftugu! Zahir hai is qism ki sanjeeda guftugu ke views kam hi aayenge kyonki zyadatar log celebrities ki zaati zindagi mein zyada dilchaspi rakhte hain. Lekin Rekhta se guzarish hai ki aisi guftugu bhi jaari rakhiye. Urdu adab mein dilchaspi rakhne walon ke liye yeh masterclasses ki tarah hain. Beyhad shukriya 💐

Very interesting. Shamsur Rahman Faruqi would be missed for decades to come, possibly for centuries. On another note, the Rekhta name of the organisation publishing the videos and literary works is deceiving; why Rekhta org is so shy of using proper Urdu name? Yes, Rekhta is the classical old name of vernacular precursor to Hindustandi and Urdu but Urdu has evolved and emerged as a distinct language with its own distinct identity since late 18 century onwards. The evolved and emerged Urdu identity from 18th - 19th century onwards has shaped the literature and culture so let's keep it that way and acknowledge it as the language evolved, survived through to current times in the formate and identity we know as Urdu. As I write, many University of London South Asian studies and University of California, University of Chicago Urdu students are now being informally advised to steer clear Rekhta unless absolutely necessary since it does not technically fit in with Urdu linguistic names for reference citing purposes.
