Good luck! I seem to remember a time before the age of 12 when I wasn’t depressed. Im not sure if it’s because I moved school around the same time and lost all my friends or because its because I got older and started freaking out like other people often do. What’s your experience?

Julien you are an absolute treasure for a lot of people, you seem to help many I love listening to your lectures because for me self help self assessment self Positive talk has always been in my life. I didn’t have supportive parents I had working class Parents too busy to care about feelings back then but hey, all worked out for the best, I have a hard time seeing that people lie to not just others so much but they lie to themselves so much just to get by!! Isn’t that tiring??? Why do some it seems have such a hard time being honest with themselves? Why is that so hard when to me it isn’t a punch line it’s my way of existence. I really do not understand the amount of people that are so toxic to others and to themselves that’s crazy to me why would you wanna self sabotage like that??

Already 3 min in, that’s where I’ve messed up with this whole “self improvement” stage of my life. My friends weren’t productive, not looking to improve, so I slowly isolated myself to work on what matters to me. This happened during the same time as Covid started. And in a sense, it might sound like a good idea at first, and it did help in some aspects such as learning to be self independent, but two years later, I am now truly isolated and regret doing that. I’ve lost good connections that could’ve grown along with my self improvement, and even though my friends weren’t on the same vision as me, I could’ve been that one friend who inspired them to change as well, but I am now just realizing that and didn’t back then. Now I have to accept the decisions I’ve made and make new connections, or maybe try to rekindle my old ones but cutting off people just because of your own selfishness is a detriment to your success, and I have now just learned that at 19, and glad to have gone through this at this age rather than later in my life. Don’t go into your journey with this “lone wolf” attitude, everyone needs help in some kind of way and it’s okay to accept that.

If they were good connections they would still be there brodie. I had to go ghost from partying, selling dope, and hanging out on corners to go to school for the last 8 years. Made some new connections and lost some old ones. I didn't talk to my old ones for all 8 years, and I hit them up and it's like nothing changed lol these were good friends that had things to lose and were also working on themselves.

My major trigger is being authentic in front of my parents. I for the first time today ended up shouting at the top of my lungs in front of my mom and she invalidated me. I was interested in listening to my inner voice after that. A dominant part of me agreed with her and a small little voice seemed to be on my side. I realised that i need to do this often. To me the thought of doing this again is quite daunting.

Hi julien, greetings from spain, i've been following you and you work for 15 years now in rsd and by yourself, what i've found really useful to stay grounded and focus is to have really well established values and standards in my personal perimeter as well as boundaries , so i know who i am ,i know what i value and i discard anything that doesn't live up to those things in my reality . Society has a clear path for everyone in school for the first 19 years. Then all of sudden you have to figure it out yourself and you never learnt the skill for it. And if you are good at something you always have to hold back to let others catch up. Putting you in this only give to others mentality that seems to be the standard for men today.

I loved this girl, and I swear to God, my ideal life would have been living in a trailer, in a trailer park, hanging out with her and her family and programming. And instead of doing that, I got pressured into going to school, pressured into student debt, and ended up in jail and prison, all because I wouldn't stand up to my narcissist mom. I tried so hard, and still lost, because I overfocused on money. The money wasn't worth shit. @15:45 I'm looped :( and I think I'm looped, because I can make a new goal, but I can't *want* that goal more than I loved her. I wish I could go back in time.

Is knowing who you are and clear of your values a reflection of having healthily developed a personality in your younger years? If you don't know those things, what does it say about you and having developed a personality? I wanna know of those two are related in any way.

What do you say to the non dualism people who say the self doesn't exist?

The ego still exists. In other words, you still have a sense of who your “person” is: your person’s likes, dislikes, etc… So think of this as maxing out the stats of your avatar.

I watched vids on this subject. No lie, I don’t even know who I am. It’s like I’m walking around with no identity

*7 things to quit for all Alpha Male:* 1. Caring about what others think 2. Not believing in yourself 3. Not prioritizing your health 4. Wasting your precious time 5. Chasing meaningless relationships 6. Wasting or draining your energy from beating your meat 7. Nailbiting/nailpicking habit for good (if you do it - consider stopping it as it makes you mentally weak + affects your confidence and all other areas of your life!) Take it easy and I hope you found one thing helpful in this list.

Never heard of an alpha male not believing in themselves.....how would that happen? If it did, I bet it doesn't last long nor need much help. I'm no alpha male, never will be, just curious

Top ten values? Really as many as that? I managed to come out with about 4. Doesn't matter though as I don't expect all that much from myself. Great speech though, well done

My current life is exactly what Julien is warning against there at the end. "Comfort zone in inauthenticity." Fuckin sucks. There's no zest to life for me anymore. Lifes become just conforming to people and situations that i encounter like a chameleon, getting better and better at it whilst knowing that im just slipping further and further away from that authentic self/inner child screaming to get out. Zero self respect. Infinite amount of repressed resentment.
