Oh my! That Subaru Brat in the pits caught my eye; was my very first professional grade RC bought second hand. I had a lot of fun with it, even after the body gave up. Stupendous video coverage of the event!

Top weekend, glad i made the trek up. Shame we don't have offroad track here in Tas. Was lucky to not break anything except a stripped spur. Had a great time.

Wooww, it's a feast for the eyes 🤩 Noticed a lot of very beautifully painted bodies 🤩 Maybe I missed it, but I have not seen an Astute / Super Astute 😮 While bashing the 1st would be a crime (and the session wouldn't last long 😂), the 2nd is much more reliable. Probably hidden somewhere 😊 Thanks for that goodness 🤝

There were soo many cars and to be fair, I didn't get a lot of video on the Saturday. I was having some of my own mechanical issues and there were still many pit areas I wasn't able to get to.

Awesome stuff Jason. Fantastic display of Vintage RC's. I spotted a Hirobo Tomcat in all that, I'm still looking for one, rocking horse poop though. I have however finally got my hands on B3, it goes really well.
@Bormac0738 ай бұрын
Yes I know the Tomcat. I have a near mint example and had it there at the track, but the one in the video along with the Midships belongs to Chris

2.4g, sensored BL, 2.2 wheels & tires, shorty lipo's and probably digital HV servos and ceramic BBs....
@Bormac0738 ай бұрын
But the cars themselves... kept as vintage and true to the era as possible. Mind you if you look at my Nikko Brat video, I set up only period correct radio, batteries, motor, tyres etc..
@VUO4E8 ай бұрын
@@Bormac073 To get this out of the way: I'm a fan of vintage rc. But the line gets blurry if you take a re-re optima mid and fit a longer chassis, a 10.5t BL on a fat lipo, 2.2 tires and digital servos. I understand not everybody has a 40Mhz set lying around but other than that, I think there should be categories. The 'purists': brushed system with NiMh and 2.0 wheels (2.4 Ghz allowed) and the 'perverts' ( :) ) with the setup of a 2023 comp buggy stuffed in a 25-year old car.

@@VUO4Eby all means petition the organisers of these events with your views. Im an attendee, not responsible in any way for the rules or running of these events. Even better, turn up and be a part of one of these events and enter your cars with all the electrics that you have outlined. DIY injection molding and a visit to a machine shop for metal parts (or DIY if you have the skill). Makes worrying about replacements parts no existent.
