I am honestly curious about what your take on this game is. Did you enjoy it? Or was it something honestly frustrating? I ask because I used to own this game I thought besides the main rubber band physics being confusing in certain situations, this was pretty decent game for a spinoff game. When I look online, this game bashed plenty as a whole. Hell, they even give you a tutorial in the beginning and people still truly believe the game is unplayable. So what do you think?

Honestly hands down Knux Chaotix, Sonic CD, and Sonic Mania have my absolute favorite art direction of the whole series. It's all so colorful, surreal, and fun. Plus the cutscenes in this are almost downright artistic, gives me big 90s anime OVA vibes.

Contrary to popular belief, Metal Sonic Kai is a name given to Metal Sonic's new body in this game, and not the giant Metal Sonic robot (aka World Entrance Phase 2, or Titan Metal Sonic (as he's called in Archie Comics) you fought at the end. Source is from the Japanese manual.

The game would be harder without the slingshot buddy system. In the story the ancient rings are fused with emerald energy giving two players the equivilent speed of a super. Some of the bosses would be harder to fight without the buddy system

I like how this game has cinematics before the boss. They make great use of scaling on the Super 32X. The whole game make great use of the addon! The colours are great! Each boss has their own music despite all of them (except Metal Sonic Kai) being just Eggman in a mech powered by a Chaos Ring... Which breaks after destroying Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik's machine?

I don’t think this game gets enough credit. And it can be pretty fun to play with the physics once you get it down. I think I like pulling back and releasing to build up speed more than spin dashing.

It doesn't because it's a cancelled Saturn game, which was downgraded as a last minute effort to get titles for the 32X. As a result it doesn't have the same quality level as the other games.

I want to like Knuckles' Chaotix but it's so boring to play. All you do is slingshot through the stages. There's barely any enemies to fight or rings to collect. It doesn't FEEL like the Sonic game we should have gotten on the 32X. I do like the graphics and soundtrack, but the gameplay sucks. You can only polish a turd so much.
