Which technology to adopt for home automation? Zygbee or Knx? Knx has extra cost to it because of extra cabling and actuators and back end equipment? What is the drawback if using zygbee based wireless solution running directly on power voltage

Great 👍 Shikha ji. One step above the home automation. I think that KNX could be implemented in home with not much alteration in existing wiring i.e. only by adding KNX switches (sensors) and actuators. The requirement is only of one additional single common wire which needs to be provided to connect all the equipments sensors & actuators just like our inverter/ups wire. Plz let me know if i have interpret it correctly or not? 😊

Thanks. Appliances needs to be connected to corresponding actuators depending on the function (on/off, dimming etc) one needs (unlike normal case were they are connected to the switch directly) in addition to the KNX bus connection (for switch & actuator). So for existing wiring it may not be so easy to alter especially when you have concealed wiring !

Usually depends on the configuration of actuators and type, sensors etc. Starts from 3k-5k usually per basic units to 30k for advanced units. You should be able to find some pricing info online for good brands. Again you have to take into account all the type of components that is needed to build the complete setup
