Nevermind, I got lucky. The first missing GC turned out to not only be used, it was on the same screen as the other missing and used one. So locating them was quite easy with Pie's tool. I don't think they were hidden very fairly, though. It's quite easy to overlook that this one tile is colored a bit differently than the rest. And there's no unmarked screen on the map to hint at the presence of a secret here.
Speaking of which, the two remaining unmarked screens appear to be accidentally created empty screens that can't be reached. It's a bit surprising something like this slipped in, considering this level goes out of its way to hide any screen from the map that's deemed unimportant.
Edit: Lucinda just told me these are from an intentional wallswim for speedrunners. So they serve a purpose, but aren't meant to be visible.
With this, I got the secret ending. Now I should have seen everything the level has to offer.
I quite enjoyed it. First time I've ever played a level with a serious attempt at storytelling. Knytt Stories isn't a particularly good fit for character interactions, so it's mostly just listening to monologues, some of them spoken by NPCs, others internal. But it touched upon a wide variety of forms of relationship trauma and has a human element that I really haven't seen in any other KS level. I don't know how much of it is based on Lucinda's own experiences, but it certainly feels rather personal.
It was fine in the gameplay department, too. Just a few GCs that I couldn't find on my own. I really don't get why this level was labeled Very Hard, though. As far as I'm concerned, nothing in there comes even close to exceeding Hard. When I think of Very Hard, most of the challenges in Azure Serenity: Tranquil Dreams or Gustav's Retribution are what comes to mind, and this level is miles away from that.
Impressive use of tilesets, too. It's one of those levels that borrows a large selection of tilesets from different artists, but utilizes them very effectively, creating a look that's certainly not stylistically consistent, but generally quite appealing regardless. The use of some Knytt Nano imagery is also a nice touch. I like that the entire level uses a custom protagonist, as I don't feel this story could've really been taken seriously with Juni. The custom umbrella is a nice touch that helps set her apart further, though thanks to what I can only assume is a bug in KS+, such umbrellas don't block projectiles. It was barely needed here, but it makes them ill-suited to harder levels. I like that the NPC sprites are very diverse as well, though I can't say they all look well-drawn.
Edit: I was told that custom umbrella sprites not blocking projectiles is an intentional feature of KS+ so that people can get creative and use things like jetpacks. I really think this should be optional, though, since plenty of custom umbrellas do look like umbrellas.
Good music, too. It changes so frequently that I can't really say I remember any of the actual details of the music, but I remember generally finding it fitting and pleasant to listen to. The use of some Knytt Underground remixes feels a bit weird, though. I've come to strongly associate that OST with its game, and these remixes sound very similar to it. So it makes me feel like they don't quite belong here. I think those tracks would work better in KU custom levels, should those ever start being a thing.
