Hey, uhh... As a Culinarian Crafting Main (Yes, I'm an Omnicrafter, I just like Making food the most), I do think it's been a bit too one-sided to CUL over ALC. We oughtta get some more Cool potion making stuff. I was kinda waiting for the Juice quests to be a bit more like "go and find this rare turali fruit and make an extract of it's active ingredient so I can add it to my next beverage", but alas.

I feel that Koana became popular and started to get art drawn of him was when he went full on "I'll hunt you down and make sure you have a very bad day" when he learned that his adopted sibling was in trouble. That at least for those two it didn't matter that they weren't blood related. I did think the sore shoulder would have been brought back up at some point, but I guess not.

Agreed that the post-dungeon chats was where it sold me that Wuk Lamat was *clearly* the best and in fact only choice for leadership

I really loved the role quests this time around. The opening introduction is the exact kind of thing I have heard role players do in open bars, right down to staff quietly urging them to maybe not be so blatant. Thankfully though we are using older zones, it seems far more an excuse to not gate people who haven't finished msq, as opposed to ew's "this is about the place you're going." The tank quest in particular really worked for me because our leads were just fun. It's probably my favorite with melee coming in second.

@@bendonatier oh my god that is the PERFECT read of the role quest group, I love it

Also- I thought of your CUL/ALC complaints while doing the juice quests- which I adore the main NPC- and I found it darkly funny that the underlying beat is that she wanted to be a healer and do more alchemical-esque crafts but due to the same problem as Cocobusi it's a juice/CUL questline

So I had a very different experience with my first role quest and Koana, but it's because of the WoL I play. (Early ranged physical role spoiler below) Namely a miqo'te machinist (by way of being a magitek engineer) from Gyr Abania (occupied). Meaning that from my WoL's view, Wuk Lamat went and picked a helper that had to remind her of her big bro. So I kinda went in expecting some specific traits in Koana, and those were almost all spot on. Then the range role quest went and sent me back somewhere rather appropriate, namely Gyr Abania. I will say at least the ALC/CUL quests are at least health tonics of juices which is... more on point than EW's, but still CUL heavy.

THe fact that DT's ALC/CUL story is the most ALC-ish ALC/CUL story is more a damnation than it is a credit.

I was totally shocked when I heard the moblins it didn’t occur to for the longest time that the psssshock noises the goblin made were actually their respirators/gas mask noises. And not some sort of vocal tick!

@@Kpiozero i admit, didn't occur to me either! Maybe because Metal vocalizes all those little mechanical sounds.

Also, Crossing fingers you get to talk about the Two gathering side quests. The fishing quests were absolute gems, and the Mining botany quests makes the lore part of my brain go brrrr after the studium quests.

@@Kpiozero I've done most of Wachumeqimeqi while leveling crafters and gatherers, and honestly ALC/CUL is the only weak spot.

There are no extreme or savage dungeons. Not sure who told you that or if it's a joke that went right over my head lol.

@@HikingFeral that's the joke, yeah. 'People who get mad that tanks are too strong should do higher-difficulty content, but that's not a real answer for the most part'.

I'm 3 quests into the role quests for most of them outside of melee, and so far, melee is the only one that feels like it should take place where it's supposed to. You could've placed the others anywhere, and so far, there wouldn't be any difference.

@@absollum I think healer manages to justify its location. The only one that I outright think is in the WRONG place is physical ranged, that one should be in Ul'dah.
