Thanks for this one year review. I'm headed out right now to get one for pruning my trees. Appreciate it! 😀

to sharpen your Saw if you get a chain file that the right size for your chian with the guide plate attached to it it will have the angle line's marked on it so all that you will have to do is hold it at the angle that's shown and push the file through the tooth until it leaves the cutting edge uniform and sharp, should be 2 to 3 passers per tooth. i like the Stihl file's as i find they have a good amount of bite and the guide plate is easy to read the line's on. but any good file with a guide will do as long as it's got the right sized file. a vice to hold the cutter bar in is probably a good suggestion if you haven't done much chain sharpening before because you don't have to keep holding the saw in place. go through all the teeth on one side the do the other, just remember to keep the file at right angles to the bar use a nice even push follow through with a slight down pressure. for best results the chain should be tight in the bar but just loose enough to be able to slide the chain around when needed but tight so that the link's and teeth don't move or try to lean in the track when you push the file through the gullet of the tooth. use the gauge on the file to pull more chain around as you need and not your fingers as the teeth get sharp and are usually slippery from the oil. you can make a mark on the tooth you start with but i just keep a eye out for the sharpened tooth myself.

I love my Kobalt Pole Chainsaw - 80-volt - 5-AH battery - 10" Bar - 6 ft / 8ft foot Pole Chainsaw. No electric cord. I've been using Oregon Bars and Chains. I have been using it for more than 3 years now. It works great on my southeast Louisiana farm clearing property that a hurricane went through and trashed all the trees throughout the woods of our 18-acre farm. I carry it all over in our woods and the battery lasts a long time. Today I'll be cutting a 6-inch limb off of a tree out front. I am also using (2) Kobalt 80 volt 18" Bar Chainsaws and using (2) 5 AH Batteries. Cuts huge logs great. The chainsaw first one wound up in a puddle and stopped working but after a couple of weeks and it had dried out, it started working again. For oil, I like to use Ryobi Bar and chain oil. We have cut 20"+_ logs and works like a charm. And NO more pulling and pulling to start a gas-powered chainsaw.

I got one of these for light work and it actually performs better than I was expecting. One minor complaint I have, is the oil cap, by design, doesn't sit perpendicular to the body of the saw, so its easy to cross thread it while attaching and it will leak. Other than that its really great for stuff like you show, around the house

I have the Skil version of this and love it. Check out the Stihl sharpener. I was buying new chains because I didn't know anything about sharpening. Now I am pulling out those old dull blades and in less than 5 minutes can get them working better than a new one.

I use canola oil in mine. The sawdust piles go away quickly when they taste like popcorn instead of car oil. I really love mine too. I've done some really big cuts with it.

I have had mine for 2 years and the biggest problem I feel is that is so quiet that one can forget how dangerous a power tool one is using.

I got the 24v and the 40v only downside to these chain saws is the chain guide where it screws in and slides forward or backwards for tension it's not metal like you see on gas chainsaws hopefully a small revision is done

Thanks for the video. Your editing failed to show how difficult it can be to install and adjust the chain.
