You can hear a kid say, "Go Kobe!" at 5:16. And then Kobe goes on to make that infamous assist. That's so wonderful to know that a kid felt hope, passion, and courage when they saw Kobe Bryant play. To admire and be inspired like that, to be so innocent... To have a hero. Someone to love and cheer for. That is truly beautiful.....

After watching this, I now realized what Kobe meant when he said if Shaq had his work ethic, he'd be the greatest of all time. Shaq was around 28-30 during the three peat which mean he hit his prime in Nba years. Kobe was 21-23 during the three peat, which means he wasn't even in his prime yet. If you can see in this video, you'll recognize that Shaq's post hook and floater was actually almost unguardable because he was so big and strong so when he backs you down, he takes the air out of you. As he digressed in later years, he could've developed into a Kareem like post player that no matter what you do, you wouldn't be able to stop him. Not that he didn't have work ethic, but he didn't have the work ethic it took to be the greatest ever. On the other hand, Kobe was eerily similar to MJ and hadn't even really reached his peak, yet no one was able to stop him. He was literally the second coming of MJ with a Dominant low post player in Shaq. Kobe had the work ethic it took to be the greatest ever. I know their relationship with each other wasn't the best but could you imagine Kobe and Shaq with 100% chemistry and friendship ? They would've never lost. Kobe saying if Shaq had his work ethic he'd be the greatest ever is almost an understatement because Shaq would've won at least one more FInals Mvp as he aged and then he wouldve become the second best player on the team as Kobe rose to the occasion. How do I know this? From 04-07, even though the Lakers didn't have a team around Kobe, it was very obvious that Kobe was the best player in basketball at the time. If you put Shaq right back unto that team, they're instant championship contenders. With Shaq skillfully developing into a Kareem like player, and Kobe developing into an MJ like player, along with Phil Jackson implementing the triangle, how could they ever lose? Both would be undisputed 1-2 greatest players who ever lived so Kobe was absolutely right. SN: Please read carefully and consult your opinion below so we can have civil conversation on this.
@AlexStayFly204 жыл бұрын
You know i been saying this for years but no one other than people who are fans of Kobe/That Early Lakers Team agrees. If Shaq honestly was more in shape and didnt do things like waiting until the season to get surgery so he doesnt mess up his summer, or waiting until mid season to really be in basketball conditioning. Then they wouldve worked perfectly fine. Kobe was ready to take over around 2003-2004 but Shaq was kind of being head strong and still carrying the mentality that im the Big Dog. Meanwhile They wouldve honestly never lost that detroit series if Malone wasnt in and out the line up during the playoffs due to injury.. and Kobes ego at that point was on some F it ill do it myself. I would want to see a documentary on that 3 peat.

Sad thing is what people don't understand is how much gravity Shaq and Kobe had as a pair. I see people act like Shaq had the defense's attention and Kobe hit open shots like a role player when that couldn't be further from the truth. Every time he touched the ball teams would throw multiple bodies at him, Blazers did this, Kings did this, Sixers did this, Nets did this, Spurs played him one on one a bit more with Bowen but I bet even Bowen would tell you it's impossible to guard him 1v1. Warriors have all this spacing and shooters which is fine and dandy but Shaq and Kobe together could attack any kind of defense with insane amounts of pressure on them, they played in a more physical era too.

Man just hearing young Kobe in the midgame interviews is so nostalgic.

KB played a very significant role in this final games, should've been selected as MVP in this series

Hate to say this but... that's a big stretch right there. He was the MVP against the Spurs in 2001. Quite frankly, Kobe was a great Batman to Shaq being Superman in the playoffs and Finals.👌 Shaq deserved the MVP each time during this run at a 3 Peat. Kobe would prove his valor when they repeated in 09 &10. Shaq was unquestionably the MVP in 2000- 2002. He played with magnum force as his coach said.💪

@@wesleypollas6326 I would say the road to the finals, the MVP was more so Kobe than Shaq. But during the finals there was literally no centers besides mutumbo that was actually considered to be an all nba type player. So Shaq would get the FMVP in the finals but Kobe putting up those Finals MVP like numberss while shaq being the first option is crazy.
