Kobe Bryant or LeBron James ? MVP Debate HQ

A debate on who of these two guys should be mvp, shown on ESPN SportsCenter. Jamal Mashburn Campaigns for Kobe Bryant, Tim Legler for LeBron James. Nice arguments and also some great footage of these two amazing players.

Kobe might not be as strong as LeBron but he's smarter. He might not be as fast as Wade, but he's more fundamental. He might not have the hopping abilities like Howard, but he has the best midrange game. He might not get to the rim like Rose, but he has the best post up game for anyone under 7 ft. He might not be lenghty like Durant, but he has the best fadeaway .

Kobe in his 9th season had a total of 2,788 assists. LBJ's has a total of 4,751 assists. Kobe in his 9th season had a total of 912 steals. LBJ's has a total of 1,194 steals. Kobe in his 9th season had a total of 3,209 rebounds. LBJ's has a total of 4,943 rebounds. Same amount of time but LeBron CRUSHES all of Kobe's numbers

The difference between Kobe scoring a lot and LeBron scoring a lot is that LeBron will still get 5+ assists. He has the ball in his hands a lot because he's a point forward.

Kobe's a lot taller than Nash so he better get more rebounds or that'll be sad lol. N e ways all Kobe had on Nash was more PPG. Mainly because Kobe's a good scorer but also because he led the NBA in shot ATTEMPTS. Nash was more efficient n effective from the 3P line. Nash had a higher percentage from the FT line. Nash had a higher FG percentage. Nash also averaged 18 points a game with 10.5 APG. That's fkn awesome man. Kobe was a better scorer but the totality of the game Nash had an edge

Kobe isn't being as aggressive with his scoring because he doesn't need to. Do you think LeBron would get those numbers if he weighed 205 like Kobe? Don't tell me that it's irrelavent either because if you're a great player then your greatness will shine through no matter how small you are.

Bird on LBJ's: "He's without a doubt the best player in the game." Magic recently said LBJ's is the best player in the NBA. Stephen A. Smith calls LBJ's the best player in the NBA. Jerry West called LBJ's the best player in the NBA. Charles Barkley calls LBJ's the best player in the NBA. Kobe shoots the ball MORE than but LBJ's still OUTSCORES him. LBJ's is a far better defensive player than Kobe. He gets his players more involved than Kobe does. He's just a better overall player

Jerry West who's responsible for Kobe being in LA said LBJ's is the best player in the NBA. Charles Barkely says LBJ's is the best player in the NBA. Kenny Smith asked Shaq who would u rather have LBJ's or Kobe n Shaq said LBJ's. Udonis Haslem who played with Wade throughout his NBA career said LBJ's is the best player in the NBA. Nash and Dirk deserved those MVP's as well. It wouldn't have made sense for the NBA to give Kobe the award when the Lakers were the 8th and 7th seeds during those years.

As far as "more skill" LeBron has had some unbelivable games. Like the 48/9/7 vs the Pistons where he scored 25 straight, 29 of the teams last 30 points and led the Cavs to the Finals without a low post scorer in this era. How about this past year when he had 37/14/12 and scored or assisted on 31 straight points to keep the Cavs season going in that win or go home Game 5? I honestly feel that Kobe has underachieved in his career.

Well when Magic and Kareem played with each other they both played well in the Finals, they were both leaders and they both won Finals MVP's when they played together. By the way, Kobe has never averaged 26/6/6 for a season.

Not only that but by this time LeBron is alread an NBA finals MVP. Something Kobe wasn't when he was 27 yrs old. LeBron also has 3 MVP's TWO more than Kobe does even though Kobe's been in the league half the time LONGER than James. I bet u n e thing Bird would rather play with LBJ's now to win a championship. Kobe is a great player man he's going down as top 5 all time forsure no doubt about it but MVP's just don't go to the best players on great teams cause LeBRON got 2 MVP's with the sorry ass Cavs. The same yr he left the Cavs set an NBA record for most consecutive loses. Now that's saying something. With all respects to Kobe if he left the LA right now they will still make the playoffs. N Kobe averaged 35.6 because he pretty much had to since his supporting cast in 06 was pretty weak

If he was drafted at the age of 18, is widely regarded as the best player today and people are saying he is or will be a top 10 player or the "best ever" then he has underachieved. By the way, Duncan was the best player of this decade and actually LEAD multiple teams to championships.

Plz LBJ's is a better pg than Delonte, Williams, n Chalmers n he doesn't even play that position lol. Unlike Kobe, LBJ's never had a dominant center on his team n unlike Kobe, LBJ's won a championship without a center. He led his team to a championship at age 27 winning the NBA finals MVP something Kobe didn't do at LBJs' age. N when Kobe was 27 he didn't even have ONE reg season MVP. If LBJ's, n Kobe came in the same yr we wouldn't even have this debate straight up

I don't have to agree with you about Kobe because I'm a Laker fan. Kobe has more experience because he's played longer. I would go so far as to say he has more "skill and intelligence than LeBron" though. More intelligence would also mean that you would take smart shots and Kobe has proven that he's not the best at that which is why he's shot 45% for his career. Kobe has played 13 years in the league and he hasn't shot 48% or better for a season 1 time.

Keep in mind LeBRON also has a higher percentage from the 3 point line. Delonte West didn't start getting better til he joined up with Bos. LeBRON's ability to assists the rock the way he does is the ONLY reason why Mo Williams made the All Star team. Where was Mo Williams at B4 or after he played with LeBRON? In game 1 of the finals Durant scored 17 points in the 4th when Wade was guarding him. In game 3 LeBRON guarded Durant in the 4th n he only scored FOUR points.

U need to understand Kobe's been in the NBA 7 yrs LONGER than LeBRON. He's 27 yrs old. Plenty of time to develop a jump shot. N e ways Nash deserved the MVP hands down that yr. It's not all about scoring man. Yeah Kobe averaged 34.5 ppg but he also led the NBA in shot ATTEMPTS. Nash: 92% 4rm FT - Kobe: 82% 4rm FT Nash: 51% 4rm FG - Kobe: 45% 4rm FG Nash: 43% 4rm 3P - Kobe: 34% 4rm 3P Nash: 10.5 APG - Kobe: 4.5 APG Plus Nash averaged 18 PPG which isn't bad

Almost over 300 MORE steals. LBJ's has over 1 thousand more rebounds. Nothing misleading about that lol. N LBJ's is already an NBA finals MVP something Kobe wasn't at age 27. In LBJ's 3rd season he averaged 31.4 points n he doesn't even take nearly as many shots as Kobe does n still outscores him
