Jay Shetty Podcast

Күн бұрын

On this episode of On Purpose, I sat down with Kobe Bryant. Kobe is a five-time NBA Champion, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, and Oscar winner. Kobe created Granity Studios: where his new role consists of being a producer, storyteller, and writer.
Here’s a snippet of the brilliance you’ll witness … Kobe: “Now it's different because it's not about the awards, you just wind up trying to create something that's going to inspire someone, that hopefully through that inspiration they can inspire someone else. What I've come to learn as my career went on, that's more significant than any championship."
Hi, it’s Jay! I'd love to keep in touch. Add me on Messenger and you'll be the first to know about my latest podcast episodes, free courses, and BIG announcements every week! Click here: m.me/JayShettyIW?ref=youtube
It would mean so much to me if you subscribe to my KZbin Channel!

Kobe Bryant is alive. If you hear him express himself, he is speaking to generations. His physical self may not be present, but his ideas, inspiration, and keen views will live for years and years to come. It is just amazing how much he enjoyed life. The accident got us all to mourn him but spearheaded us all to listen to him more than ever.

My best friend is a composer and musician. He wakes up every day at 4 am to work on his and other artists' music. He always credited his work ethic, hunger, and desire to be better everyday to this man. When Kobe died my friend cried for days. He still cries when he watches highlights and interviews. If I hear him scream out of nowhere I know he just watched a Kobe clutch video. Shortly after that, I'll be seeing him maybe cry a little, or talk about Kobe, but then he takes a deep breath and gets in a fucking zone that's so scary it makes me want to run a fucking mile just watching him work. Kobe said at 17 "At the end of it all, If I'm only remembered as a basketball player, then I've failed" Kobe was beyond a basketball player. He impacted lives. He dared to be great. Rest in Peace, Black Mamba.

Kobe’s such a brilliant man. When he was talking about letting kids be imaginative, that applies to grownups too. When I’m going for jogs I imagine myself as like some warrior that’s training for a war or something like that, getting ready to combat invading forces and like in a training montage with the music I’m listening to, and it just keeps me going and I never saw it as a challenge to use mental tricks to keep myself engaged I just thought I was being a weirdo lol

You are the embodiment of magic. They teach us otherwise and we have forgotten how special we really are. Man, I wish I listened to this back in the day... Growing up I was tall and fast, they put me at the center and I was great at starting fast breaks, rebounding, and had quick feet so I could finish at the basket. I never developed a shot or handles. My coaches even told me not to work on that, I remember one coach telling me never to shoot outside the paint. Well by High School I stopped growing, I was 6'2" in eighth grade and 6'2" now. No shot, average handles, and done with the game after Freshman year.

Success is only scary when you're afraid to fail. We didn't perfect or learn anything the first attempt. We couldn't walk, talk, wipe our ass the first year's of our lives but we learned thru failing first then realized what works. So what changed that to become successful at anything we think we shouldn't inherit failure? Ego is a killer of progression. Learn from the failure to take steps closer to success.

Why was he a GREAT man? He played basketball. He NEVER gave a dime to help his brothers who are on the streets. HE hoarded his vast wealth for HIMSELF. This is NOT a great man. The men who drive ambulances around, especially volunteers, are great.

This is such a gem. Did I read correctly that this was Kobe's last interview? Jay was brilliant throughout the entire interview...he never wavered. He didn't make the common mistake of over-projecting himself against one of the strongest figures of our time. He remained humble and reverent all while being incredibly present. Wish the lighting was better on Kobe but this is definitely in my top 3 Kobe interviews of all time. Thank you Jay! Rest in Peace King!!!

I've been a fan of Kobe my whole life. I think MJ changed the way we look at sports, but for my generation - GOAT is this superhuman. Since him passing away, I've become a lot closer with Kobe's mentality and simply his outlook on life. I live day by day revelling in my professional and personal life based on a simple question when it comes to bringing decisions - what would KOBE do? I am eternally grateful for inspiring me and many more around the world. Legends never die!! 🥂

The quote "we overestimate what can do in a year and underestimate what we can do in a decade". I think is by Tony Robbins. The interview is just so epic, Kobe is like that... Thank you KB for speaking like if every word could change the direction of history...

How did we lose such an inspiration? He was the most woke person to properly inspire people with his outlet. He's so amazing that his words and greatness bring everyone together. I want to become great and even better than him because of his wisdom and how positive he was.

Kobe's been my favorite athlete since 1996 when I was 9. I took his passing really tough as I was literally a few miles away working for Amazon in Thousand Oaks, CA when the tragedy happened. It's hard not to tear up as I type this...i just want to thank you Jay Shetty for this episode because the timing of this being in my feed is perfect. The Universe is definitely working and conspiring with these words from Kobe. This is the motivation we all need.

Kobe when he spoke it was instant motivation and drive to be come better. He said powerful things we all hear alot, but he said it with that extra emotion and deepness. Kobe is a rare person in life that makes you feel bad about the small stuff you may be going through. There will never be another person like him. I grew up watching his career progress then took soe falls but he got back up, we all saw all the bad and good he did and he handled all the haters in a respectul fashion. Then when he was able to he gave back to the people that were by his side and never doubted him.His fans of his game that never doubted him through negative stories and most importantly his family.RIP Mr Kobe you will forever live on as a legend as an artist of life)

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it kzbin.infoUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

Thats so insane how at the end Kobe talks about muses and to look to people who have accomplished it before, he can easily think oh I’m Kobe Bryant, there’s no need for me to look up to someone else. He doesn’t though he stays humble which is so important, which proves why he’s the goat even more.❤️
