He’s a student of the NBA, he could play only 8 games against you and then he’ll read you like an open book the next games. A lot of NBA players can defend, but Not too many of them are students. @@NFLDRAFT2018 My high school coach was a junior college scoring champ, several times over. He taught me this trick. Players usually always play to a certain rhythm when they are trying to score, and it's always very close to the same amount of time or less. If you successfully defend them to that time limit, they will almost always look to pass the ball off. It used to work like a charm, 90% of the time when I was a high schooler/AAU. Good stuff!

lol and who do you think mentored Kobe? Who answered the late night texts on breaking the game down. Watch Jamal Mashburn interview about how Jordan broke down his game and told him how to change it up so that he could score more, and how he did the same for the rest of the all star team before his final retirement. Jordan also credits Dr. J and Magic Johnson for doing the same things.

Right!! This ain't no new sh*t I coach Bball and grew up in the east coast an hour from Kobe, and coach Hurly taught these defensive teachings...every pro at top level knows this stuff ...Walt Fraziers back hand steals, Mookie Blaylock method of stripping the cross over Muggsy Bogue method of dribble counts...they all studied the game and had crazy methods of defense...they all could tell you clamping methods, but this social media now so the whole world can hear this...All great defenders love to study film/replay and ask or get advice...

@@jaycespades8360 facts. Jordan had this little known player named Scottie Pippen who was assigned the best player and another little known player named Horace Grant who would be assigned the next best player and another little known player named Ron Harper that would come off the bench and defend the best player and an even more obscure player named Dennis Rodman who would defend a team’s best player. Jordan RARELY played defense against great players. Kobe demanded it.
