Join me in a journey of where we end up. bought the kobra 2 max and its been vital to ensuring we made enough product in the short time we had for awesomecon this year.
Around March 1st/2nd i had a y layer shift that led to a catastrophic failure. filament clogged the printhead and spooled up in the axel of the y axis.
i cleaned the machine thoroughly, removing debris from rails, the axels, print head, etc. I updated firmware and slicers. although i still had issues in standard mode i slowed down the print to stable mode and for a minute got good prints.
March 17th the issue happened again in stable mode. i switch slicers from anycubic to prusa and , in stable mode, got 2 successful small prints. Still in stable now using prusa i got another shift March 19th. i notcied the axel screws might not be as perfect as i thought so redid the alignment, belt tension, greasing etc.
Tried the same print post calibration and it seemed to be going better this time around but still skipped towards the end.
The y axis motor feels cool, belts tensioned, greased, no debris, axels aligned, bed moved freely with no wobble. As much as I loved this printer out the box it has become unusable.
stay tuned to our youtube to hear updates on whats going on. im hoping to either find someone who has had this issue and resolved it or if i can help someone with this same issue resolve theirs.
