I had the same problem with the middle of my hair needing more attention. For years I didnt understand why my hair would still be so dry even with water and product, it was because I wasn't giving the middle enough attention. That hair was dry and formless, and the ends would come right through and make all the hair look bad. Splitting it down the middle and making sure it gets wet enough and good amount of product has been absolutely key for me

You and I have just about the same hair type. I have my dad's hair texture which is a pain! I learned something new from you and that's spray my hair with water after I do my curly hair routine. I usually do my hair when it's sopping wet but by the time I'm done it dries. *BUT* it takes my hair forever to air dry! I usually try to squeeze my curly hair routine for two weeks. I usually spritz my hair with water thus reactivating the hair products I have in my hair. By day 10, though, it's a hot frizzy mess but by day 14 I will redo the whole routine all over again. It's a repeating cycle which is tiresome...so now I'm dealing with braids for the summer, lol!

You many need a stronger gel (like some of the ones I used to use a lot: eco style, wetline xtreme, etc.) but the routine would be very similar and it would give you defined curls in your style. So instead of define 4a curls like I have, it would give you defined 4c curls. You could also do things like finger coiling to encourage more of a curl/coil
