Let me tell you brother. Korea has a diverse sound scape but Japan is also an amazing place that produces amazing music as well and alot of them are also associated with their animations. try Official Hige Dandanism - Cry Baby or One ok Rock We are Live performance

Japan is the biggest market in Asia and they have so much talent since forever, they just don't focus on exporting much which is also what makes their sound unique since they aren't worried about Western appeal. That's why K-pop always puts extra into catering to Japan because theirs is the bigger market, which makes sense since they are a bigger country with more than double the population and the music industry to match. If you have made it in Japan a difficult market to make it in,you have made it in life, even Western artists use to say that. On a side note,K-pop is neglecting the European market too much.

I don't think you can even compare korean music to Japanese...

You definitely cannot compare Japanese Music to Korean lmao.... not even a tiny bit. Even J-Pop is that complicated. Try showing Yorushika's Haru (spring) to an actual musician and i guarantee you their brain will explode

I don't know much about music theory but I went to an adult piano keyboard lesson. The teacher ask me to choose a song and he will simplify it into my level so we can enjoy the lesson more, I chose a Japanese song and his reaction was oh no... Japanese song are often weird and complex
