just like this, I also visited my neighbour many times when I was a child. We have apartments with one wall separating and my mom literally used to hand me over the wall to them when I was small. And everyday after playing, they used to give me meal before sending me back. And till date even though from a small kid, I'm a grown adult, they care for me the same way. recently I had corona and also hospitalized, so when they saw me coming back home, they a were so happy. Even now when I'm all well they ask me if I'm alright. Really Good people 😍

The neighbour thing seems to be universal. I remember when I lived as a child in Germany I knew everyone who lived in the same building. There was even a restaurant beneath us and even with them we were really close. They always made us Tiramisu when someone of us had his/her birthday :) And when we were alone at home because parents were at work most of them knew and when needed helped out. In Croatia, which is my homecountry it was the same (especially when we came for visits before we permanently moved back) . We are still close with neighbours around our house who we know since forever. The newer neighbours not so much. And there you really feel the shift these days. Neighbours these days barely know each other which is sad but in some cases it can be maybe the better option at least to avoid problems. Only one neighbour and she lives exactly next to our house and she became problematic after her husband died. Most of the neighbourhood dislikes her. And with all that being sad it is rare these days to entrust anyone to the neighbours to take care of for a short time...be it kids or elders. doesnt matter.

It's true that Asian neighbours are almost a family. Or were, at least until recent past. Actually it's the urban that became more secluded but the rural sides are still friendly with everyone. When I was in elementary, our neighbour family had a single child and she would come to our home every single day and they've left her with us and vice-versa when parents go out. And then in middle school at a different place, it had one house per floor, so the family downstairs got very close with us that we still maintain the bond for twelve years and more even after we moved multiple places. We visit each other once or twice a year, we attend their family weddings and it still continues. But I think that was it. Lol the neighbours we got after that house are not in good terms, none of them. It's just pure luck and destiny. If you get good neighbours, then they'll definitely become your family
