Kocsis spontaneously and effortlessly transcribing the F Major Brandenburg Concerto with an air of Buddhist calm and tranquility, and his own absolute certainty about music. The very last of the great pianists and an equally great musician, philosopher and thinker.

Great documentary of a wonderful artist and human being. Kocsis was not just one of the most awesome pianists of all time, but also (or so I gather from this film) a thoroughly nice guy without any pretense. A great loss to the musical world. Many thanks for posting !

Thank you for sharing many documentaries in your channel. I first listened to young Zoltan Kocsis playing Debussy's Children's corner in a Classica Japan film in youyube , which was three months ago. He played it the way I can't wait to listen more, I felt he was telling something so interesting in his playing. I subscribed your channel. So glad to listen to his playing and know him better.

Ő is ember!!!

My very favorites, are: Zene-Zene-Zene: 1978.04.01 KOCSIS Zoltán -Liszt Weimarban (1973) Mesteriskola - KADOSA Pál tanít (1972.02. ??) And this, KOCSIS Zoltán - Un Musicien Passe (2000) completes the picture. ALL the clips are good. What a beautiful library! Kris9kris, whoever you are, you must surely feel loss. My condolences to you who obviously appreciated and respected Zoltan Kocsis.

@TitiLatulipe2 жыл бұрын

Whilst its true that Kocsis was never a strong technician,not by todays standards anyway, he always played with heart and enthusiam which made up for his technical shortcomings.I saw him play years ago and there were fistfuls of mistakes but somehow it didn't matter that much.

How delightful and refreshing- and personal ! Where did you find this, Kris9kris. He is gone, but then he comes back bigger than ever, one more time. Heartfelt thanks for this documentary/portrait. He was a very funny man- what a great sense of humor. Tender and attentive to his little children. Virtuoso, scholar, human being.

I’d rather not go through the effort of recruiting a dozen expert cryptologists to decipher what in the name of God did you mean by this, so you’ll just have to summarize/clarify this assertion for us less initiated to understand.
