I would do him every second month to help him as fluffy dogs never stops shedding! Also brush him every day, it’s gonna help him a lot

They need a proper brushing routine and equipment, rather than just giving him "a brush" with "a dog brush", if they do it themselves regularly and thoroughly then they can go to the groomers every few months for the works, but if they half ass it themselves then he needs to go monthly

andyt2k well, not everyone has time to spend an hour everyday brushing a dog🙄nonetheless one has fluffy as Koda. Most dog breeds need brushing everyday but the owners don’t do it. This includes myself. We aren’t groomers. We don’t have time for that.

I'm a groomer and de-shedding with the velocity dryer is my all time favorite thing, SO SATISFYING. Tbh though BOTH dogs should be going in every 6-8 weeks. Most of my shedding dogs are on a 6 week schedule but some come in every 4 weeks. It would help to proactively take care of the shedding & matting on both dogs.

They didn’t even think to buy a coke that removes all the shredded hair. I have 2 German Shepard’s and every year around spring time, I have to Comb their hair every day for around 2 weeks until their winter coat is fully gone. They fill up around 2 plastic bags worth of hair.

I love how Cooper has to sniff the butt to know it was Koda. Then, he was like, “Okay cool. Nice look bruh. Now I’m gonna run around and be crazy again.” Whereas Bella was SO HESITANT through the whole shot. She was like, “Oh no! Koda is so handsome! I am a groomer and do this deshedding process on dogs all of the time. it is really healthy for them. the undercoat needs to be maintained so they don't get too hot or cold. people think shaving dogs like Koda helps but in reality the deshedding process is much healthier. behind the scenes in the grooming salon when this process happens is hilarious. it literally looks like it's snowing when we blow out the undercoat. congrats Koda, I know you feel much better

Best advice i can give you on his undercoat shedding, invest in a furminator brush. Its a brush made to brush out that undercoat and if you brush him with that a few times a week, his shedding will be reduced A LOT. On top of that, since you guys were wanting to get him groomed more, take him to a nearby pet store and get the furminator done on him. Its a shampoo, conditioner, and brush treatment that reduces up to 90% of shedding if you do it every few months. I have a mountain dog and she does not shed nearly as much as she used to. Hope this helps!!

hi, I work at a vet and I am constantly furminating and de-shedding dogs. some helpful tools I love o use is a furminating brush and a k9 blaster( kind of like a blowdryer x10)
