Kodi Tries Episode 7: Taste Challenge

In Episode 7 we have Kodi trying different flavors of yogurt to try and guess what flavor they are. The association of taste to flavor is sometimes difficult for Kodi. And you'll also see our friend Julia also has the same challenges when you can't see what you're eating.

I love this guy. After watching his America's got talent audition, I cried, and cried. He truly does inspire me, and has made me realize, that if someone who has disabilities, doesn't let their disabilities stop them from living life to the fullest, and following their dreams, then there's no excuse for me to continue to let life keep passing me by, and sit around feeling sorry for myself. Thank you for showing me that Kodi, and for being an inspiration for me, at a time in my life, when I need it most.

Autism is a sensory intelligence. You have to look at the ingredients rather than the flavor the company marked it as. So if he says "juice" and "pineapple", look for juice concentrates, citric acid and ambiguous natural flavoring. If you want to go further, you could even ask the company what the natural flavoring is. It could be pineapple enzymes like bromelain. So next taste challenge, try foods with more whole ingredients because it's a lot that goes on with processed foods for the autistic person. When I smell avocados, it smells like seed and pears. Turns out, they are in the same family. But to the neurotypical, they might think I'm blunted in my senses if I said avocados smell like pears even though it's the other way around.
