We hope that “Kodomo-no-Kata” will make Judo more accessible to children as well as all judo practitioners, allowing them to learn Judo safely in a step-by-step manner.

They can't be white belts for real.

In traditional judo white belt is worn by anyone below shodan (first degree black belt). Sometimes brown or purple belts are used these days. Using different belts for each kyu is mostly a UK invention that was adopted in Europe and eventually the rest of the Western World.
