Man, I've been playing Mabinogi since the year it released. Really hard to see a game that was so socially outstanding, holding so many different and endless possibilities of fun to be explored, turn into what it has now, this game was the core of my childhood, and I have no doubt in my mind I've spent over 15,000 hours of pure game play on it. I still log on every once in a while just for the pure nostalgia factor, but it's not the same, and in that sense-- it's scary to think how close the game is to just disappearing if you compare it to the loyal player base that it used to have some years ago. This game was the game I came home to play after school, on days off, the game I skipped way too many weeks of school for and spent countless precious hours and money playing. I won't ever forget the amazing memories this game has given me, including all the social skills this game gave me the chance to develop. It was a big part of my life, and made me feel as if anything was possible as a kid. It brought my childhood to life. I remember staying up all night to play it, and just feeling tingles of happiness rushing through my body as I talked to other players. I love this game to it's core, and always will. Mabinogi is what made me appreciate celtic lore, music, and socialization. I still keep in contact with one of my very first friends I made on this game. Even though I don't really pop onto it anymore, it's one of the first games that got me interested in RPGs. Also alchemy ftw! Such a unique "class" that I sure miss whenever playing other games. Will always have a special place in my heart

Agreed, I probably enjoyed Mabinogi more than WoW, FFXIV, Black Desert, Ragnarok Online, and Guild Wars combined. I could rant on this all day, but nothing will change the tragedy that is Nexon. RIP.

Mabinogi was my favorite game of all time. I was in high school when this game came out, and I was having a hard time since I didn't have many friends in real life, so I secluded myself into gaming and this game did everything for me. It gave me friends, it gave me dreams and ambitions of what I wanted to do for the future. I came on every day and played for hours on end without a care in the world. Just having fun with my guildmates and people all around the server. Fast forward 10 years, and I still talk to many of the people I met in this game to do this day. We even occasionally meet up in real life and hang out. I could never thank this game enough for what its done for me. I Played on Mari server: Name was Orihime and was in the Vernier Guild. If anyone remembers me, just know I will never forget the times we shared in this game.

Welcome to the club, I'm in the same boat. It's rough because I know for a fact that my memories don't match what the game is. Nostalgia is a fickle thing, and when you're aware of how it works, it makes recreating that beautiful experience all the more difficult for me. It's such a paradoxical predicament that leaves me with no choice but to just reminisce and look back on how much fun I had back then and the few friends I made.

The servers may not be as full and bustling as they used to be, but there are still tons of players around to meet, chat and play with. I've even met quite a handful of new friends since rejoining. Music is S class. Gameplay S Class. Combat is a solid A It falls short to Dragon Nest and Blade and Soul both S class combat. Art is a B with the Concept Art keeping Mabi high enough. Blade and Soul is S class. Story is Lackluster in Mabi. However I have yet to see a single game with good story. To aru Majutsu no Index series is SSS.

Mabinogi isn't exactly dead, the population is very stable and you can generally find people to do meta content with, but you can't play the same game you played back when it first released. The new character experience is just speedrunning all the generation content solo, when in 2010 you would have to grind for weeks, spreading your ap across different skills to maximize stat gain while also contributing to a diverse player economy, and then get in an 8/8 party to do a single story dungeon. It was significantly more social and dependent on cooperative play while now it's mostly a solo game with a social fashion aspect. It simply has that late stage MMO fatigue you'll find with every other older MMO. You can tell how starved vets are for that older aspect because of how friendly they are, every time I've played and asked someone for help with a dungeon, they've given me free items worth 1m+ to get my character more in line with the meta. They are currently releasing large QOL updates to the game, but you'll noticed that many of the changes involve making those early game dungeons shorter, since again, they were intended for 8/8 parties to slowly trawl through. I sincerely hope that the Unreal engine port will allow for that classic first release feeling, and slower, social progression. Fundamentally I think if Mabinogi as it released in 2010 - released today, would succeed well.

I played this game for the first time in 2018, it was high school when I've got so much time. I don't remember much about it now, and I forgot my account. Even the music isn't that familiar anymore. However, I remember I absolutely fell in love with it. I remember the first time I was playing it, it was so much fun. I dedicated 1000+ hours playing it. Going home from school, I couldn't wait to play this game. I loved the story and how open it is. I loved grinding, farming for my level, donations, and quests. I loved the view, the friendliness it gives me. I made so much friends in our guild. There is one whom I still have contact today. I met so many others and ranged from 16 to 28 (our guild master). They were so friendly and cool. They'd lead us during battles, dungeons, and events. When we chat they talk about wine and work I would always have fun talking with them, bickering, laughing... I don't know where they are now, but I sure miss them. I remember getting married to one of my guildmates. It was so fun roleplaying. He was kind and helpful. Everyone congratulated us so much, even the world chat congratulated me. Many people attended and it was such a wholesome experience. I miss them. I also love how everyone gathers on one place and starts to play music together. I loved how everyone finds different instruments to use just to join the crew. I used to download many MIDI files for us to play. I love it when other players loved the music I was playing and would join in. It was sooo much fun. I stopped playing when I got to college. I had no choice, many things happened, and I slowly forgot about everything. I only remembered this game when my sister asked me if I know some great MMORPGs, and Mabinogi was the first thing that came to my mind. I was like, _"Oh yeah, there used to be this game..."_ searched it up, and saw that it was dying. Please tell me it won't. And I'd love for my sister to have a similar experience to the one I had. This made me remember bits of the time I played Mabinogi. I absolutely loved this game I want to cry. Now I can't find it anymore. Where have you gone to? Are you still there? 😥

I remember how much I truly loved this game. Met many friends, had fun ass roleplays. I will never forget what a beautiful game this has been. I passed my red wings and all my gear onto a new player a few years back, I hope he/she enjoyed the experience as much as I did. I’ve been on a hiatus for several years now since I don’t have time to play with my business + internet at times, but maan lifelong player here. But Dunbarton CH1 was packed so much that even an Alienware of mine would sometimes lag. I heard the game’s been going way downhill ever since, and the playerbase just isn’t what it used to be. If I ever do get back on, I’ll certainly add you. 😂

There are some pay-to-win mechanics like reforge tools but, like Black Desert Online, a lot of those can also be obtained if you wait for the proper events to come around to get them. Even pets are offered in events from time to time. They have added so much new content to the game too. Give it a good and honest chance again. I know it lived up to my nostalgia. Is it perfect? No. But it is still such a brilliantly captivating game with an intricate and detailed storyline. Worth the effort.

The unfortunate part is actually coming with none of the old designers are still in the group. Now it is the 5th generation of the game designers who had no ideas about what the first group of people are thinking about

@@KagenokamiSanguis Well, but the game has already lost its original fun and challenging since the system upgrade. It was a very strategic based game, and now it is way more action-oriented. I think it may go into preference, but I am just not a fan of the game after G9...

@@windsound2010 I don't see that at all. Sure there is action, but the game is still very much about strategy in my opinion. You can't just spam abilities if you are in dungeons/missions on your level or higher, you have to actively choose the best abilities to handle your situation.

마비처럼 체계적인 생활형,모험RPG 많이나왔으면 좋겠다 ㅜㅠ 오히려 세련되지 않고 옛날감성나게하는 그래픽에 잔잔한 브금 얹어서 추억팔이형으로라도 나왔으면좋겠다.. 계속 업데이트하고 새로운 컨텐츠, 아이템, 직업군, 스킬, 지역 등을 추가하는 등의 발전적인 형태로 가는것이 RPG의, 게임의 숙명이라지만... 수 년동안만 단물빨고 버려지는 게임들의 끝을 보기가 무섭다 섭종의 비난을 감당하지 못하는 운영진들의 비생산적인 컨텐츠개발, 현질유도 등 이해는 가지만 이제는 그만 추억에 묻어줘야하지않을까 마비노기, 메이플, 서든, 엘소드, 크아, 카트... 넥슨을 기른, 넥슨의 뿌리이자 어린 시절 추억의 뿌리 넥슨도 버릴 건 버리고 독보적인 판타지세계관, 눈감게만드는 고퀄브금, 독특한 스토리와 캐릭터로 다시금 우리의 아이감성을 건드려주었으면 좋겠다...
