Ralf has the heaviest hit combo in this game, and was always my favourite player besides Clark,Takuma,Robert and Ryo. Personally I think Ralf may even be the Strongest player in the game, not even the boss could block his super punch which is pretty awesome.

To all people who find Ralf's look in KOFXIII bad, and wish for his costumes fro the old KOF's, remember that this IS the real Ralf, from the game Ikari Warriors. This is how he should have looked all through, though personally I liked his 2000 outfit.

If you look at the transcript, he dashes into it. I tried it, it's REALLY tight, like you should only get 1 frame of the dash before hitting C from what I can tell. Hard to do consistently, but doable.

+Senhor Bolacha Ya gotta have fast fingers and good coordination. See if you can complete the second tutorial consistently, learn to execute your character's moves consistently, THEN move on to the trials. I'm on Ralf's eighth trial and Kyo's seventh. I suck at fighting games, so if I can do it, you can definitely do it.

I hate how Ralf looks in this game. I've always appreciated the risks SNK has been willing to take with their characters, unlike some other company Capcom , but they went too far with Ralf. He's no longer the tough but regular-looking guy with the strength of a one man army. He now _looks_ like a one man army. That's a problem because it forces you to create a different reality for this character that, for more than 20 years of KOF history, had been more or less consistent. Worse still, the change wasn't even gradual, like it had been for some characters (ex. Kyo, Iori, Terry, Ryo, King). I really hate this new sprite. _That said, the sprites for Clark, King, Yuri and Athena are just as bad (perhaps worse)..._

Admittedly, I really like the way he and Clark look in this game. I don't think that there's anything inherently wrong with the way they look, unlike Yuri and Athena. Perhaps SNK wanted his appearance to match his character description. It is taking a risk after all. Also, it might just be me, but I can't help but find myself drawn to the look of the tanned, embodiment-of-testosterone soldier who can summon explosions leisurely. It's admirably campy. But yeah, I agree with everything else you said aesthetic-wise 100%. Yuri and Iori are supposed to be the same age, and the less I say about Athena, the better.

I feel like in terms of being more diverse in character design it's a good choice. Because to be honest an average looking joe that's also a one man army, is a pretty overused archetype.
