making combos and breaking them are easy with Kyo and Iori, I'm rather glad he is used a lot more now than the previous kof since all you could see was Ralph or Leona matches. Wasn't Reynald the one who actually displayed a top tier Kyo in KOF XIII? Others weren't as good as him, and for a change it was nice to see a not Mr Karate winning the EVO that year.

I played it a couple of hours ago with my brother, and I would have to agree. It's the first KoF that I've actually played (not first SNK game - that was the PSN version of Last Blade 2) so I'm a bit late to the party. The point is I haven't had that much fun in ages.

If you play with Kyo and/or Iori, you are automatically LAME, no matter your skills.

why? kyo is my favorite character from when i first played him as a kid.

It's because Kyo and Iori are easy to learn and have always been op other then KoFXI Iori. Honestly they are fine other then needing a reduction in damage to be fair in this game. People are just tired of seeing them because people boast they are really good at KoF yet play Iori Kyo teams which is like giving them a machine gun while other players not doing the same thing are given a handgun. Its an uphill struggle most characters have little answer to them alone but put them on the team and throw in K' and then you have team easy cheese. With this new system though I'm starting to see the potential in it so much I can expect less kyo, iori teams in the future because a lot of these characters turn insane with max mode the same old gimmicks with kyo and iori would be easier to work around or punish. We just need the game to drop to test out these characters in full and it's still in development we can expect possible re balance before the game comes out next month or perhaps a day one patch it's not going to end the Iori, Kyo hate though until we see counters or re balance in the future.

You have to play this in person before summing up such conclusions. The path to 3D game development was the necessity, and 2D game development for the current console gen is very costly. Yasuyuki Oda and the crew had no regrets in going the 3D direction for their future games.
