I'm only about 30ish miles in on mine so great to know they hold up so well. I get a bit of soreness under my arch but last run that seemed to mostly go away so think it just needed a bit of breaking in. If they last 150+ miles that should mean I can do a bit more training than I planned in them before my marathon to make sure that arch issue is fully resolved. Hope it is sorted asi agree they're a fantastic shoe! At marathon power they just turn over so fluidly and the watts relative to HR shows there's definitely truth in the hype.

Thanks for this vid kofuzi! I've ran around 90 miles on these shoes and everytime I run on them they feel great! Only issue is that My beginners knowledge of running didn't know much about my running style until I saw what happened to this shoe!- My heelstriking and and overpronation caused the sole of this shoe to wear out pretty bad, pretty quickly, around the inside part of the heel. It's such an expensive shoe as well so I've been adding some shoegoo on it and it still gets the job done. I don't want to risk using it for long runs so I just use it for fast 5k-10k's

Great review. Here, two years later. Good to hear about about the air pads. Take a look at early air pods 30-40 years ago. I used to cut the pillows out of the shoes at the end of the shoe's life, use them in other shoes. The pillows had air chambers set in a small maze like pattern and the chambers the size of your pinkie. And yeah, some popped here and there. Early models, believe it or not, left the air pillow sort of exposed, thorns sometimes punctured the pillows and theqould burst like a balloon.

There is wear on the front end, also getting mad blisters after like 8miles i am running in a humid env (tropical) and dont use anti blister socks so maybe the humidity is whats causing it but idk. I do feel like overtime my foot will get accustomed to it since im seeing less blisters since running in them for pretty much a month straight. But the irritation is still there, but in my opinion its worth it, i normally do my runs at around 6:45-6:50per mi and im still pretty outta shape. I feel like they do assist me in keeping my consistency, especially when i start getting in that zone after like mile 7-8 where im on my way back to my house lmao i can slow down and the springyness definately helps me so ill take on all the blisters although if someone has a cure that can assist def do tell

I've now done 3 training session in the Alphaflys 7k, 15k and HM, breaking them in slowly - or rather getting my body used to the shoes slowly. These aren't my first carbon plated shoes but while it took me little to no time to adapt to the Hyperion Elite 2s or the Endorphine Pros, I feel like I'll actually have to do some 300-400k to be able to run a marathon in these. Now here is what I like about them: - They make me faster. The HM-training session today was an unexpected HM PB (1:38:10) which kind of shocked me since it was my first HM under 1:41:00 and I hadn't even gotten much sleep the night before.The 7k "break in run" and the second 15k session looked like threshold/fast days on strava even though I had no intention of going fast. - The upper is not only super breathable but also holds your foot in a way that you could probably run a whole marathon with your laces untied (which is not likely to happen since the laces are also very good) What I hate about the shoes: - They are by no means comfortable. The 4mm drop that will actually feel like a 0mm drop because the front part of the shoe is so much harder than the back part is taking its toll on my feet and will probably require me to ditch anything else from my shoe-rotation that has a higher than 8mm heel to toe drop and do some barefoot running/walking until the big day (marathon) - My foot arches hurt when I wear them because they are ridiculously narrow in the midfoot area. While it's not insuffrable it's also not very comfortable. - My forefeet start to feel numb where the air pods are after about 10k. Again not a dealbreaker but not fun - They are super loud - which makes people turn their heads at you - They are the most ugly shoes I have ever worn - They don't feel like running shoes. They feel like sport equipment for another sport - like rollerskates........ or a bicycle

Advise please - Got my first Alphafly V1 today. Feels extremely bouncy. Two problems if possible to advise. 1. It's not possible to do a running Knot so my heels are a bit slipping.. 🤔 2. I do feel one ankle sore after my run.🤔 (My run was 8k and I broke 2 records but the shoes "made me" do it.. Garmin 745 says load 260 Strava RE 180 and Garmin say rest 67 hour in RED 🙄. Question: does the heel drop in the Alphafly feel as low as 4mm feels in other shoes? I normally can't do 4mm or often even 6mm without aggravating my achilles. But the Alphafly looks squishy enough, and the forefoot looks to have enough of an upward curve, that I wonder whether it functions more like a higher drop shoe. I'm reluctant to pay such a high price for a shoe that my achilles might prevent me from using much.

I’m just getting into running and have a low arch, are these great shoes for getting about 12-18 miles a week in and have good foot support?

What is better for cardiovascularity running slow and a lot or running fast the same length?
@jacobreesmontgomery3 жыл бұрын
running slow and a lot for sure man. base training is how you build your cardiovascular system and that's just easy runs.

I love these shoes. Much better than the Next%. My Next% died at 110 miles.

I have the Alphafly V1. I find the "negative drop" a problem. The back of is soft but the front is hard.. Killing my calfs. Do the front air pods get softer with time?

Only 4 runs in them so far; total of 50 miles. Like them way more than I thought I would but possibly due to confirmation bias after spending £270 on them!! Re running faster in them, I reckon yes if you have been running in bottom of the range shoes like the Saucony Jazz....but not convinced I run any faster in them compared to my Saucony Endorphin Pros or Endorphin Speeds!!!

Interesting. I'm actually significantly faster in the Alphas compared to the Endorphin Pros. I've ended up being really disappointed in the Saucony shoe. Heard such great things and they just feel a bit....flat. Obviously fine to run in but I don't think they offer the same sort of spring as the Nikes. That said, dropping £230 on the Alphas might have clouded my judgement!

Going to run Tunnel Light Marathon in September. I am have both VP Next% and Alphafly but worry that rocks may get stuck in the holes between the Alphafly pods. Any suggestions?

I asked you a few times now! How to become a lean runner like you? Also do you lift weights to stay strong?
@kofuzi2 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry I didn’t see this question earlier. But i would defer to a registered dietician for this kind of advice. Personally, I’ve never run with a weight goal in mind. I run to achieve run goals and because I like it. Whatever flows from that, I’m ok with.

I know it’s a pricey shoe and I’m rehabbing my knee. Could I just use it walk around in?

is 100 miles on shoes that much too ask? I run 14 miles a day, by that math i run 98 miles a week. Should i change my shoes in every other week?

Amazing shoe, but for sizing do I need to adjust up .5 or 1 whole size?
@kofuzi Жыл бұрын
I went with the size that I usually use for all my running shoes
